攀登 in Central Tablelands

warm up - it was cold, very cold

Some good climbing moves on this. Good test for 18 and some. Highly recommend

Tried to do the whole cave without the massive ledge for feet, got 2/3 of the way

Clean

Reminiscent of the totem pole, if the tote was a towering pile of choss. Way thinner than I imagined and a great day out on a crazy feature, fell off the first move on the 3rd pitch

Found a thin and sharp undercling that made it easy

Pretty fun

Cracker sunset, fluorescent pinks and oranges accompanied by singing lyrebirds in the valley below - magic. Hung the draws then fell off the last move, really like this route

Found this easier than some of the 19s, tho that's probably height dependant

Fun end of day attempt in the pouring rain... Felt like I was climbing well... and then I found the crux!

Took a few biiiiiiig falls on the crux undercling move. When I stuck it (replete with flying drive-by) I felt like a boss!

Short (if climbed without linking into the upper pitch) but great rock, and very strange (engaging) moves. I'm happy to call this one 25 with my physiology.

Another lap. Love the upper half steepness.

A great FA, whereby I still had to fight to stick the top moves, despite 5 sessions on this thing (most of them in TRS).

Once you get to the steepness, its all just genuinely fun climbing. The rock quality is wave wall, but longer, and steeper. The main 3 bolts of the crux is just super funky, powerful, tucked-in bouldering over a long sequence, and I just really enjoyed my time on this.

Sent on second go / first red point attempt, wasn’t expecting it but the moves weren’t too hard?

First go today, I tried it 7 years ago; did say I’ll eventually head back to send it!

Easy start, tricky middle, must’ve read it a bit wrong because I was mega stretched out!

Alzheimers onsight, a good warm up!

Sort of hate that start mantle thing, but enjoyed the relatively easy middle. Didn’t manage to figure out how to stick the LH crimp from the flat jug at second to last bolt. The low feet are too low and the high ones are too high 😅 was very tired by then though. One to try again
