攀登 of The Fat Man Traverse

Awesome! Defs don't believe it's V10, I reckon it's around V8. This problem's pretty special to me. Started working on the V2 traverse not long after I started climbing, then spent hours projecting the V5 Fatmat traverse, then Unleash the Dancer. Finally resulted in the Fat Man Traverse. Awesome.

Great boulder. I think it's more of a V8-9 but I certainly got my fair share of bruises on it.

Managed to re-tick this one today. Stoked it went so quickly. For some reason in my head I thought that I'd gotten weaker.

Manged to find a spot at the end to chalk up whoch made finishing alot easier.

Starting in the underlings and going the whole way round.

2nd shot! Didn't feel too hard this time. Stoked.

The golden go, everything went exceptionally well.

Felt amazing, after falling off the last move for a session came back fresh and went second go. The boulder has finaly come full circle. So Psyched

What an absolute mission. Third shot of the day but got very close on the first shot but had an absolutely heartbreaking fall.

Full disclosure I started with the lower footer on unleash the dancer and went down to jugs at the start of smoke and mirrors before the top out. I'm looking forwards to coming back and trying some different beta too. Definitely still feels like the hardest problem I've ever done. It's certainly the problem that's taken me the longest. Thanks heaps to everyone who's worked this problem with me but especially Alex Mougenot Liam Sutcliffe Alexander Jones notlongnotstrong you guys are deadset legends.

Couldn't have asked for better conditions tonight. Felt calm and satisfied even before arriving in the forest. This was only amplified during attempts and after the send. Strange how easy it all seemed, and how relaxed the process feels when you disentangle yourself from an outcome-based mindset.

I tried the start move of this on my first ever outdoor bouldering trip and immediately thought "crap that's hard!" and "I'm going to climb it one day". Three years later and it's come true. Thanks Lena for coming out to the forest with me again. Totally rate post-send picnic in the cave. Glad I brought the blanket and cake.

This problem has it all: punchy explosive throw at the undercling start, to a sustained hanging traverse that decreases from jugs to crimps, ending in another powerful throw. All over like 10m of climbing. Beautiful Got all the moves ... now to work on linking.

Couldn't stick the front lever move to the low shelf for a whiiile. Was getting a tad depressing until I got my movements back. Have it in 2 links now. Also reticked the undercling start (Unleash the Dancer) again, without too much trouble! Will take something else to bring it all together. So excited

Great problem getting stuck on the traverse section. Might just need more stamina.

Another day of getting to the last move and being gassed. Nick pointed out quite rightly to maybe try breathing between the start of the problem and the end .

More attempts again, was not feeling it today though, getting the start more consistently, just a few weak attempts giving up in the middle section and the ending need to go with higher energy and a bit more skin. Hopefully some time this winter.

The move to the heel toe cam is pretty challenging. Will need to give it everything for the send

Made some pretty good progress. Linked to the end from just before the kick through for the first time.

Only had 30 mins today before we were shooed off by a construction worker. Felt pretty good but need some more endurance.

Many laps of kick-over sequence into smoke and mirrors. Consistent and dialed. Wait for dry start holds!

Send attempts are a go go. Not much else to improve on for now.

End of session suss, got all the moves and have some beta sorted. Keen to come back and try put it together. Can imagine it putting up a fight.

Back to business. Feeling much better than last set of projecting -- getting off the ground is easy at least. The ticket will be skin management this round. Keen to get back to it and commit some send burn sessions.
