Have only done pitch1.. I'll log pitch 2 as another tick when I get it... Friggin amazing.. this route has loads going for it... loved it.. took 3 shots to get it because I just didn't have juice at the crux after 3 days on... Need to start remembering beta also.

Don't shortchange yourself a nice victory whipper at the end... perfect end to an amazing climb

Stoked to do Taipan classic.

Very much a head game. Climbing itself is not particularly hard. Took me 5 goes in total over the space of two years.

Shot 11 - I finally got it! I can't friggin believe it! Also this was my first time actually pulling over the lip and standing on top - I was always saving that for when I got it clean... because I knew what had to come next. This time I stood on top and screamed my elation across the valley, asked for 2m of extra slack and... "I'm gonna jump!". There was a funny moment with one foot stepping on mid-air and my weight just PAST the turning back point my brain went "nup I don't want to do this"...

Ticked 3rd try, mega route!

Wow. Such an amazing route. Fell off the crimp crux 3 times, realised i was doing it wrong, changed my beta, ticked next shot. Milked all the bomber hand jam rests and pulled the final moves feeling fresh. Great way to end the trip. Victory whip is mega! 5th shot.

Puts the classic in mega classic!! Best route on earth 5th attempt over 3 days.

2nd go after working the tough first moves. Took a long time... lots of downclimbing and shaking on the higher crux... Yee ha!

P1: pretty weird committing move which I just didn't want to do...

P2: Rad. Had the beta, got it second shot. Great day.

Saved P3 for Fisting Party... need to sack up

Linked p2 into p3. Onsighted p3. Was pumped out of my brain after linking from p2. One of my fave pitches of all time for sure!

With jengA. Belayed from the ground using a single 80m route. Only worked P2 to sort the moves. Linked P2 into P3 for a mega pitch testing mental and physical endurance. P1 - Onsight; P2 - Pink Point (ticked 5th shot, and continued into P3 without resting); P3 - Flash. What a route! P1 is okay. P2 is enjoyable bouldery fun, but P3 is utterly mindblowing through a roof, and steep slopey water scoops. A lot of effort to work, but worth the investment.

This was taipans parting gift for the couple of days hard work and average weather.

After a couple quick working shots on the crux and a good brush I sent through the crux pitch and then went on to Onsight the top.

A climb that will stay with me forever and a fight that left me feeling totally wrecked. Amazing linking the top two pitchs.

Pitch 1 - Tom (Onsite) Pitch 2 - Tom (Top rope / aid) Pitch 3 - Tom (attempt) - attempted to finish "boldly" took probably biggest whip I have done twice, second time not so pretty! Despite that the single best thought provoking and committing climbing I have ever done! Was spectacular, definitely coming back for this one.

Great fun adventure. Two ropes useful but not essential. Long draws essential. Cams up to size 2. The top pitch as described steps left after the final bolt but I’ve done it twice by staying right and going up the arête which is awesome (and cleaner) at the same grade.
