攀登 in East Kootenays

Slopes to slopes to a big ol' chicken wing, freshen up then bust through the last crux. Good fun. Do it in the morning before the sun hits it!

Too tired, couldn't hit the last crimp before the end of the climb. Tried again but fell before the crux haha.

This route is fabulous. Climbing a 5.12 crack on bolts is the dream Super hard for me but I worked out the crux.... eventually. Top out is about as close to bouldering as I have ever done!

my first pure 12a! went down pretty quick after figuring out how to save enough energy for the crux move following crimpy start. stay away from kamikaze to keep the grade!

beautiful. relatively easy climbing up to the crack, a scary clip and a quick shake and through powerful moves to the top. really fun.

The routes are closely spaced, but I this did not find it contrived. Was not tempted to reach for holds on kamikaze. Route makes sense. sequency.

Don't do it in full sun haha. The feet turn to butter!

possibly more fun than its higher rated neighbour, bubblewrap. definitely feels easier.

3 attempts. a tricky start, a rest, a super fun finger crack section, easy climbing at the top.

Good ledges, with nice tricky climbing between.

Thought I was climbing Stick it in the slot, the move is tricky but not worth 11c according to me.

Fell at the last heart breaking move. The bubble jugs on this are so so sweet though. An absolute classic! Had a second shot but was still gassed and did even worse.

Pulled some super funky moves on the roof and just made it by the skin of my teeth. Didn't realise my leg could reach that high above my head? Went with the offwidthing technique at the top rather than dealing with the pumpy face moves.

Fell before the fixed draws couldn't get a good jam in. Great climb though!! Want to try it again

I think the guide book got this wrong. The grade is more like 5.12b Super hard, but ok

awesome. keeps you thinking all the way up with tricky sections separated by decent rests, then a pumpy but incredibly fun finish

nice to onsight a route that has solid rock but doesn't see enough traffic to have all the holds marked with chalk. a real onsight (even though i've climbed the first part, kamikaze, 1000 times)

hard to get this clean. took me a lot of attempts. no particularly hard moved but pumpy and sustained. don't forget the awesome leg jam whilst clipping the chains from the horn at the top. also climbed under moonlight august 2016.
