攀登 in Te Waipounamu / The South Island having 攀爬攻略

One of those problems that is hard for no real reason.

Went for the onsight. Fell off crux. Too gassed for roofs today. Quality climbing though

I dunno.. not that stoked on how this climbs - pretty average overall. Might leave it.

Hung the draws. Sent first shot. 5th attempt overall.

Up the exposed arete with a section of face climbing. Beautiful looking climb for the camera.

It was harder than the 16 for me.

Stoked to get the send on this! Was a battle. Maduro put the draws up and had the good idea to go back down to the lie down rest after clipping the 3rd bolt

Got to the third bolt clean on lead then couldnt work it out. Did it clean on top rope. Will definitely come back to lead it

Very crimpy start on to easy ground. Made all the moves, will come back when fresh

Seems like rockfall danger has been mitigated. Brilliant route, nice exposure on the top pitch but very well bolted.

Took me a while to figure out the crux

Struggled with skin and wasn't really enjoying this one

Forgot my climbing shoes and seconded it in my approach shoes.

Pretty fun movement, lots of stemming. We decided to pitch on to the top which I wouldn't recommend.

Another 1.5 pitches through gorse to get to the top and then a bit more gorse bashing to get to the lookout. Walked off the back and jogged down to the car to get out of the carpark by 5:30pm

The first third is fantastic with knee bars and exciting mantles. The rest of the climb was nice but seemed needlessly run-out with fall potential onto ledges. Watch out for rope drag, I had a top rope boost whenever I clipped a bolt.

Great old-school climbing between good edges, if you can find them! Fully bolted

Great endurance climb. I pumped out and messed up the cruxy moves near the top. I think it'd go though

Nice juggy climb even though it's dirty

I fell at the last move to the anchor! A pity it's so dirty at the bottom, as it has very interesting features and moves. Maduro got stuck not knowing where to go at the top. Turns out you can stay right at the tufa, get an undercling on the tufa and get to a good edge by the last bolt

Cool climbing up a tufa and corner. I found this tricky with slippery feet. Fell at the last tricky move

Feels like an easy 19, start is the crux

Very nice overhang, mainly positive holds, start is the crux

End of the day and was very tired, also went off route twice

Harder than the 24. Those crimpy polished oily hold worn off all my finger tip.
