攀登 in Hellfire Buttress

classic chimney climbing. We broke it up in two pitches (on the obvious ledge.)

Hard 22. Possibly 23

2nd time on the route after a 7 year break when i fell on pitch 2. What a classic. Happy to have finally sent.

Great challenge. Not my style first half. Really enjoyed it.

Very cool route. Got lost at the very end of P2. Not sure what the correct exit is...ended up doing a boulder move foot over head mantle onto lichenous rock, which was clearly not correct, and hung on what turned out to be my stance piece. Turns out the topo line was wrong and has now been corrected.

Pitch 1 felt hard for 17, placing gear awkward. I found the next pitch easier although it looks intimidating. A good climb worth doing/ repeating.

Second pitch is mega. Hung at the final boulder problem on TR. Psyched to get on lead on this.

Awesome route....Fights till the very end!

Great climb to start the day and gain Lucifer’s Ledge. Highlight of the route is the top which is well protected and provides an athletic finish as you exit the chimney onto the face and pull through on overhanging blocks to gain the ledge. Finish feels harder than the grade 13 assigned ;-)

We veered off left towards the top to stance on a wonderful ledge and missed the direct finish which looked like the crux but nonetheless was still an awesome climb. Logging as a send but will likely have to go back to send the direct finish! Route eats gear and I have since purchased another 2 cams to make sure I don’t run short next time We started the day with Wounded Warrior (very pleasant start to the day and worth doing) to gain Lucifers Ledge and then moved right to the start of Warm Up.

Onsighted P1, dogged P2 hot slippery crack thing

Best trad line done to date.

Good line. 'Sideburn' still the business though.

Such good quality. One of the best 19's I've ever done.

Climbed with Josh. Burnout was a waterfall so jumped on this 22. Ended up lying on my back on the diving board, weirdess climbing move I've ever done. Pretty unfit at the moment but good to get back out and do some mileage. Loved Hellfire, what a place. Been missing these early start missions. P2 was more like 17 / 18 would like to lead that next time.

What an exceptional climb for the grade. Worth repeating. Overhanging at top, so clean falls. Def worth more than 3/5 stars given in the book.

Cool to do once, nothing special, better climbs at this crag.

Trad Wow! Beautiful route! Climbing career highlight for me. Am a bit of a pissy trad climber. Worked the bottom roof more than a year ago. Pulled through it this time and was really stoked to onsight/flash the rest. After hanging in this finger lock (mid crux) for almost 5min contemplating giving up or pushing on. Thanks Ross! Awesome route!
