Great face climbing on slab, crimpy. Short but powerful.

Ok, I did it!

Description: Its a rad route, apparently its chipped and I can believe that. It is very thin with tiny pockets, short but pretty tough and sustained. The crux move (beta alert) out of ANC and onto the face is really fun, and there is a rad THUMBDERCLING move further up. There is a variation that goes up through stompie direct but I didn't have the gas or the toe power (my toes were destroyed by the tiny feet) to go for that.

Grade: On 8a.nu the route grade is 24 (7a); I have only climbed two 23's (zero 24's) so I don't feel experienced enough to comment on the grade. I will say I worked this one for an equivalent amount of time to my other 23 send, around 3-4 visits to the crag.

My send: I rehearsed it a few times on top rope which was useful as the 2nd clip was a concern for me. I would recommend against trying to clip that from below. It was actually easier than expected on my lead attempt (got it first go) but I think part of that was because the conditions were drier today. On my previous visits there had recently been rain and I think the moisture in the air/on the face made the crux move harder. Really happy to have another 23 under my belt - 24 here I come!

Some silly bugger suggested I try this thing "because why not" a while back so I gave it a whirl. Now (me being me) I am stuck working this thing until I get it!

Can do all the moves but am struggling to find the right way to do the crux. Once I find a repeatable way to do the crux I will practice that once or twice and the rest should be fine.

Short route. Feels better if you keep climbing and finish at the anchor of the 19 called Stompie.
