攀登 in World by Ramon

Ended up drifting too far left and mixing the route up with Janus.

Short and easy.

Felt a little tricky this time around for some reason...

Fairly easy route with nice holds. Start of the climb is a little precarious as the earth crumbles beneath your feet.

Route runs just to the right of a tree with a fascinating root system. Sharp rock.

Super slippery because of the rain and I hung on precariously trying not to slip off on even the best holds..

Bottom of the route was pretty wet as it passed through a channel where the water ran through. The middle proved a little tricky with the wet rock but the upper half was a quick scramble to the anchor.

Big footholds got me easily through the very wet and slippery bottom section, there was an elusive hold in the middle crux that was a long reach away but easily power through once you find it.

Route began on the far right on a boulder with deep juggy holds everywhere. There was a section with a deep depression that required a high step and my left knee kept on getting stuck as I extended my leg. Ian found it easy to get through this section as he is shorter! Damn my height!

Climbed it again to set up at the anchor for photography.

Start on a huge angled slab with bolts pretty run out for at least a third of the way up. Rock wasnt completely dry so was extra vigilant. After slab ended, a section with huge narrow slices of rock began, a little overhanging and quite exposed mainly because route would dip into the rock and veer back out again. Lots of loose rocks on the ledges for the 'in' sections so had to warn those below of possible rock fall. Very nice route!

Both routes had anchors that were on the right so we had to watch the ropes when pulling them down to prevent entanglement on the tree. The route was still damp from the previous day's rain so was a little trickier that it should have been

Longer route with anchor on the right. Found the upper section to be a little sustained because the wet rock left not too much rest stops. Rock was a bit sharp on some parts but good holds were everywhere.

Heavy rain! Walked to the cave looking for some dry routes but even these were wet. Gave them a shot nonetheless figuring that they were easy 5's but we were surprised by how tricky they were when wet! Gunk , slime and mud coated the rocks.. The route itself was fairly straightforward except for a move that required a rockover on the slippery rock,

Even trickier with the rock wet! Two sections required big moves, stems and rockovers with precariously slippery hand and footholds

Nice climb! Great mix of different moves - underclings, cracks, crimpers, jugs, it has almost everything. Saddle up and over boulder near middle of the route and follow crack on to the top.

Loved this route! Easy and juggy, though parts of it felt a little polished. First time attempting this route and found myself in and chimneying up with the rock curtain behind me, kept on going up until the top tapered off and I found myself stuck with no bolt anywhere. Dogged here after finding the bolt outside on the left below me. Would like to repeat it to clean but by then the mosquitoes had started to come out with a vengeance!

Didn't rest much after the CrackX climb but the ubiquitous holds turned out to be deep pockets (why the locals call this route "Pockets") so it was fairly straightforward. Anchor was a bit off to the left. I enjoyed this climb!

Nice climb with good holds, meanders a little around a big block, crux was somewhere here. Most memorable part was right underneath the anchor where there was a small cave (more like a hole I suppose!) where one could see right through to the other side!

Belay from a ledge, route diagonally up, juggy with good holds, but through a wet section again and a relatively flat face with a long reach. Clipped loop into rope to lower off back to belay ledge instead of down into bushes

All the way to the right side and exposed to water, going down through black streaks. Easy first 2/3ds but very slippery section on a diagonal edge, had to use a wide pinch as an undercling to transition to the edge. Nice hold in the middle of the edge inside, but back to wet sections right after.

First bolts have been cut (could be first two as the first clip was very high 8m) to dissuade climbers, Ian free climbed the route which was a little nerve-wracking to watch,route goes up to a tipped over L shape in the rock with the anchor to the left, there were dark sections that were wet as it had been raining. Magnificent views

Knee bar move at one point, it was dry but because of my elbow injury, found the route a little tricky..

Goes up to anchor at White pillar in the cut in the wall. Had been raining so it was pretty slippery as the route was at the end of the cave opening, bailed.

Ironically it started to rain after my warm up on rain man so had to wait it out. Jumped on the rocks right after but find to my dismay that the diagonal crack that we had to follow at the start of the route was where the water was channelled down, leaving the holds slippery and gunky. Dogged here a bit just to wipe the gunk off my hands. Continued upwards, fairly straightforward until the second larger sling where I made the mistake of drifting right into the cave. Couldn't see the next holds and found the rock super slippery. Edges out and found the 'grip' on the top left. From there it was an easy sprint to the anchor!

Easy warm up!

Once again belayed from a ledge with the sea just below. Straightforward route till an overhang just below the anchor where one needs to step across to the left and switch across before switching back. A little exposed at this point but heaps of fun!

Another route where belayer belays from a ledge anchored into a safety rope with the sea right underneath. Great juggy holds everywhere with a few big pockets to wrap your fingers around. Very easy route for a 6a+ with a little overhang just before the anchor. GreatI found this easier than 'snake skin' and 'cobra head' view behind towards railay!

Iconic climb up a unique tubular feature. Route was straightforward with same move over and over again though. If not for the rock formation, it would be a tad boring. Platform at top where anchor is for belaying up to the second pitch.

Interesting route where belayer belays clipped in on a small ledge. The route is juggy with nice holds and tappers off into an overhang at the top just before the anchor. Stepped across onto the rock to the left at this point before pushing up to the anchor. A bit exposed. Nice route!

Super overhang route out of the cave, excellent silhouette shots from here. Great holds for first few bolts but the ceiling is a killer. Bailed!

Climbing up the flow stone towards the massive stalactite above. First section is easy with multiple phallic shaped knobs helping you up to the top. The route rounds out at the top and holds run out. Dogged here as I didn't know the sequence. Realised that I had to cross my left hand to a small hold on the right, right foot high-stepping and rocking over by pulling with my left hand, then reaching over to a massive jug on far right. Straight up to anchor from there. Will smash it next time.

Lots of monos leading up to first bolt. From there there are two underclings on the far left and right and as you step up you are left spread-eagled. One hold just above ones head but no way to reach. Bailed.

Attempt.. crazy lean back and side pulling up. No lead for this route as anchored through 'short and easy' anchor. Few guys said that the route is harder than it was a few years ago as it's more polished. 6c maybe?

Huge steps and jugs everywhere but for some reason it seemed slippery, rock was pretty polished around the middle of the route, but powered straight through to the anchor after that.

Attempted the route but the start was super slimy with bat guano everywhere. Second last sling below anchor seemed pretty run-out. Bailed!

Started up the big ladder and traversed over to the left. Another climb up and across a slabby section on the right brings you to the first anchor in an alcove under a stalactite. The first pitch up and over the left side of the stalactite and the second pitch were fairly straightforward. The third veered off under a huge exposed stalactite where one is forced to step over onto it, before climbing back on to the rock face again. Struggled up fourth pitch. Superb views of the beach at the top!

Starts with an overhang with side pulls and side smearing for feet. Easy from there on with juggy holds up to the anchor. Short and sweet.

Just to the left of the kratoy cave under the massive stalactite. Easy start at the overhang with smearing on the stalactite, looping over and straight up to the anchor.

Climb starts up into the cave, huge ledges and grips making it an easy climb. Had to downclimb to unclip the lower draw each time I reached a bolt to reduce drag. Came out and traversed to the left of the arch and went up the stalactite. Traversed to the right and up to the tufa right above, holds becoming easier the higher up I got. A bit slabby after that to the anchor. Excellent climb!
