攀登 in Euglah Rock as Onsight

Bit dirty, bit vegetated but the average rating goes to the description of "through the overhanging chimney" – more like "up and around the overhanging offwidth". Being a chimney aficionado the only reason i choose the climb was for the chimney but it was far too tight even for my slim stature. Bit disappointing.

Alzheimer's Onsight! I had no idea I'd ever been on this route before (seconding Neil years ago).

Pleasant low-angle arete-climbing with spaced bolts, and no pronounced crux. The lack of an anchor to get back down (or even easily rap off) is annoying.

pretty nice climbing actually, with some committing moves and reasonable gear

First taste of Kaputar! Pleasant stemming up the corner with good gear the whole way. Top belay was a bit grim in 60+ km/hr wind...

Pick of the day for me, can't go past a good arete! Lovely moves on good edges

descend off the most rusted anchor i have seen to date. should probably be retired some time soon.

Definitely going to take a bit of time to get used to the style of pro at Kaputar. Spent ages hanging around trying to get in the many small wires throughout the route. Thankfully there are plenty of good stances to hang around placing gear.

Good gear, rock and moves. Shared finish with I. Trad belay.

Doesn’t look like much due to vegetation, but these don’t impact on climb. Deserves more traffic

Probably the best value climb of the day. Wish the hand crack at the top was longer.

Really fun climb! Good gear all the way up, until the overhanging chimney. You can't really fall out of it but unless you have big gear it's not easy to protect. Moves are excellent though! Belayed and rapped off big tree. 60m rope will get you down easy.

Nice. Think I did a more direct finish going straight up on the second pitch making it about a grade 10. Climbed as one pitch.

I guess it's exposed. Dead tree start is not long for this world. Continued to top.

Very good climbing, very bad rock. The existing 3BR are thin expansions and are very rusty. But the gear in between is pretty suspect. Interesting climbing though.

Instead of stepping left up the easy second pitch I went straight up which was apparently quite nice on second

Had set up TR on dusk yesterday, and cleaned it a bit. Needs another hour of work to make it leadable, would be a bit exciting mid climb. Needs another good scrub and a few more small flakes cleaned. Great line

Do yourself and belayer a favour and aid the choss at the start to enjoy this route as the climbing is good above. Quite spicy bolting, interesting fin feature

A different way to get to top of cliff, quite nice climbing, though gear at start is a bit dodgy. Probably not done for 2 decades. Deserves more traffic.

Not sure how this one escaped. Ground up, no preinspection, some shot put mid climb , but generally good rock, thankfully good small gear and a nice airy line

Quite dirty and friable in places at present but would clean up ok. The old BRs are rusty as is fixed wire, but currently seem sound and can be backed up with small gear

The crack in the middle is very nice. The start is a retro bolt of BGUTI, the finishing arête is tricky with no wear or chalk for clues

Led both pitches linked. Thoughtful and careful climbing needed, but not too bad after the first 8 metres. Couldn't find any nearby chains ( it was raining by this time) so abseiled over Burning Spear. Took double rack and 14 draws.

Stick clip as the first two bolts are surrounded by choss.

Pretty dull.

Awesome. Closer to 40m with top out. Chain 10m westward (to the right). Good gear, some super cool wire options in surprising places!

Wasn't sure what the gear was like, so place about a third of it while climbing. Small for the bottom 2/3 with lots of RPs, but it's all there. Too hot and too many March flies to try today, and besides it was super fun even on top rope

Definitely needs trad, no wonder steve felt it was goey! Everything a Kaputar route should be, not over bolted, trad placements left without bolts and not impinging on existing lines. Thanks Robin.

Another great not over bolted Barley classic. Gear to #3. Hard start.

The pro was a bit dodgy

Stout warm up. Take small cams. Good direct start to primal scream

Did this with a trail rope and double trad rack. Was trying to get into primal scream, but didn't quite work.
