One lonely but excellent Ryodacite boulder.
Mount Mugga Mugga is CNP land, the Plan of Management can be found here. The Irish Block is classified as Zone 2, which should be managed for both recreation and conservation. Most of the remaining reserve is classified Zone 1; so conservation is the priority.
Of particular note is the Pink-Tailed Worm-Lizard which likes the same areas we do. Impacting the rocks and vegetation under boulders will result in closures similar to those at Black Mountain. In this reserve, it's habitat is between the quarry and Hindmarsh Drive. Development in this region should be avoided.
Adherence to these practices should allow Mount Mugga Mugga to remain open.
Notes:
The Mount Mugga Mugga quarry had some low angled routes with very old hangers however it is now an active dump for building waste and is off-limits.
