攀登 in Victoria by Mike Rockell

Finally after a number of dalliances over the last few years it was time to commit.

A grade harder than a number of other 24s I have done recently. Preplaced gear ⚙️ including 2 very good green 0.0 cams in first horizontal break.

About the third time I have climbed to the top crux and not had the residual power to go through.

Sensational moonboard move and good climbing after that. Second shot

Did a direct start which probably made it slightly easier but to my mind better. Great moves all the way and increasingly harder the higher you get.

A fabulous top half.

More Watchtower wonderful. The opposite angle of the Moonboard

Timeless. Just as good now as back in 1984 and 2015

Pretty darn good climbing actually. V++ crux at second bolt.

Best graded as 5.9

Had a good fight. Great climbing in the second half

What happened to the ring bolt that presumably had replaced the PR?

Took some grit to keep hanging through the last third

Height dependant crux with sharp edge but beautiful climing up to the crux

Great runout climbing and crimping

Same difficulty as nearby 23s. First go on this day after a prior 1 rest ascent in 2015

Safe route now its got a couple more bolts up high. Good finger locks and jams

could be closing in on 25?

22 going direct up at the top rather than heading left. Going straight up seems the natural follow your nose way to go

Pretty solid at 22 but winter friction helps
