攀登 in Devils Tower National Monument

A sensational route and one hell of a fight

onsight pitch 1, hung pitch 2

swapped leads with Ian C

climbed with Alex and Danielle. Led p2 left side.

Swung pitches, starting with p1. (Nobody lead meadows traverse.)

Lovely enjoyable -- but get on it early to avoid the crowds.

Followed clean -- but was exhausted (shaking) at end of P1, so had to call off trying pitch 2. Maybe food? Maybe spending an hour shivering at the belay? Not sure why.

Fun and sustained. Good corner jamming practice on granitic rock.

Nice techy incipient finger crack

Great slab crack with hardly any features. Memorable route.

Great if not a big polished and a loose section up high.

I only had one #3.5 and one C4 #4. Not a recommended rack haha. Pitch 3 could happily take 7 or 8 #3.5's!!

This route is in my top five crack lines of all time. I love it! Mostly 0.75s and 1s. I mostly placed nuts though. There are lots of constrictions.

Scooted up this from 3-5pm after arriving. Great place!

Seconded pitch 2. I think I was heard to say I want to die about 2/3 of the way up. This has got to be height dependent
