攀登 in Gallows Edge

More anchoring and rapping practice.

My first ever unassisted outdoor sport lead with a rap down. Perfect for that purpose, though the climb itself is not that interesting.

I sent it by going over the arete edge and back. More fun this way; you notice the exposure. Fritz seconded.

It's like being a bug climbing a hacksaw blade edge

I'm beginning to notice the climbs at Gallows Edge are very similar to each other.

The bolts are easily spaced. The top could have some quite difficult variations, I opted for moving left to avoid the large slighly overhanging headwall.

Last bit looks really tough, but holds suddenly appear when you reach for them

Thr crus for me was directly below the first bolt. This was my 1st 5.8 sport lead in a long time.

The crus (5.8+) is above the last bolt. I slipped off the 1st try but made it the 2nd try.

The top headwall seemed harder than it's 5.5 rating

Gallows Edge is not a place to climb on a hot day. I fried my fingers.

Jaggedy layback. Keeps fingers cool on hot days.
