5.10a | ★★ Hakuna-Matata | 15m, 5 | ★★★ Classic | |||
Going to update my rating to 'classic' if only because I keep going back to this route when I'm at Calabogie and I keep enjoying it. This was not my best showing, but still fun. Tetchy at the bottom, ballsy at the top, and with that lovely final move to get up and over. A nice, nice route. Someday I'll send it.

Happy to have led it! I think it's soft at a 5.9+ but still glad to have made the redpoint.

Not my first lead on this route, but I was pretty happy with how much easier it went this time. Some effective beta from a friend really helped. Plus, I think I'm just stronger now than the last time I tried.

A great climb, really cool. Still (personally) think it's easier than 5.10a. Agreed with my friends that a small cam might be good to take up to place in the horizontal before the final moves. Also, a small ledge broke under my foot just below the roof: watch out for friable rock! Plus, that foothold is now quite a bit smaller. Sorry.

A 5.5 that also makes you think a bit. A very pretty climb.

It's not the climbing, it's the exposure: upper part of this climb is very airy.

The hand traverse at the top is very cool, although you can't see your feet so I did a little scrabbling. A little exposure at the top of the traverse to add flavour and nice balance work on small edges in the lower part of the climb.

Crimps and balance at the bottom, with a fun hand traverse at the top (you can't see your feet at this point). Really enjoyable. The big, apparently detached block at the top is a bit spooky but huge and seems solid.

If you don't find the kneebar, the starting moves on this route could be a lot more work. But after some messing around, my friend and I found the sequence and it went pretty easily. I was surprised to discover the rating, actually.
