Yoni's Crag | ||||||
5+ | Morning Stretch | Average
6a+ | ★ McGrammar | ★ Good | ||||
Muscle cramp. Went for a big move and fell once.
|
||||||
6a+ | ★★ Unnamed 6 — 2 attempts | ★★ Very Good
Failed onsight. Easier the second go around. Focus on feet, then reach for the jugs post-crux. Suggested the name since I held the middle pocket(s) like a bowling ball
|
||||||
6c | ★★ Unnamed 4 | ★★ Very Good
Really solid attempt. Missed the side jug and tore a flapper..
|
||||||
5 | Unnamed 2 | Average | ||||
Delicate start for the grade.

Mon 20th May 2024 - Ein Farah
Southern Cliff Academy
6b+ Hard | ★★ Middleman | 19m, 7 | ★ Good
Very cruxy around bolts 3-4. Crimps, slopers, polished feet. One useful pocket, however my (fairly thin) fingers barely fit; felt like I would break them if I fell. After bolt 5 it's all jugs.

6a+ ~6b | ★ Hamor Garem | 9 | ★ Good
Sandbag like everything in Farah. Easy start, cruxy middle with polished and/or uncomfortable holds. Top 2 meters total slab into a fixed (and weird) anchor.
|

Sat 18th May 2024 - Zanuah
Yoni's Crag | ||||||
6c | ★★ Unnamed 4 | ★★ Very Good
Remember to warm up your fingers... Commit to the left-side jug up top and you'll make it.
|
||||||
5 | Alexie's Crack | 3 | Average
Unnecessarily runout. Probably 2.5-3 meters from the last bolt to the anchor and bolts are spaced out.
|
||||||
Sat 18th May 2024 - Zanuah
Ivy | ||||||
6c | ★★ Little Finger | ★★ Very Good
Crimpy. Nice sequence at the crux. Uncharacteristically good route for this crag.
|
||||||
Uknown | Average | |||||
Not for warmup. Pretty hard, probably 6a+/b
|
||||||
6b+ | ★ Alma | ★ Good | ||||
Dirty and crimpy. Not sure the Adam/Alma split is necessary.

6a | ★★ Darth Vader | ★★ Very Good
Obvious line up the crack. Fun with some non-trivial parts in the top middle.

One move wonder. Bolting can be confusing..

Biggest sandbag I've ever witnessed. Handholds way off the bolt line, sharp crimps and some tricky foot placements. Not recommended, especially not for warmup.

Cleaned the route. Top rope to the crux then lead.

Beehive to the left near the end. Aid climbed one bolt to skip it.

6b+ | ★ Black Coffee | 18m | ★★ Very Good
Nice and relatively simple, harder section after a good rest. Last few clips are far to the left, confidence required.

Fun start into sketchy move after bolt 3. From bolt 4 I found creative beta with a heel and an overlooked handhold to the side.

Broke some rock at the beginning and near the middle; does not seem high quality (or seldom climbed). Vegetation kinda annoying on this one. Cool moves after the midsection.

6a+ | ★ F-factor | 20m | ★★ Very Good

Sat 23rd Mar 2024 - Gita | ||||||
Gita West Isolations | ||||||
6b+ | ★★ Peek | 15m | ||||
Only did the first 3 bolts as it was getting dark. Overhang felt surprisingly simple, then commit to textured crimps. Seems like the last half is much harder (my partner worked it).
|
||||||
6a Hard | ★★ Strawy Hat | 18m
Route was damp from rain earlier in the week but I don't think it was harder than usual. Stiff for the grade but lots of fun.
|
||||||
6b+ | ★★ Ta'al | 21m | ||||
Engaging start up to a short, cruxy traverse on OK holds. Then go for the glorious jug. Afterwards much easier.

Tricky face up to bolt 4 then a tough crux on decent holds. Took a couple falls before finding feet.

The Arch & The Cave | ||||||
6c Easy | ★ Where's Waldo — 2 attempts | ★ Good
Not sure if I found optimal beta but it worked.. mostly about footwork. I used a high right foot, tricky weight shift, painful but good right sidepull into the sloper. Clip from the undercling on the left then find 2 more holds to finish.
|
||||||
6b | Chunky Monkey | |||||
Up the jugs into an interesting midsection then it's over
|

6b+ Easy | ★ Neighbourhoods — 2 attempts | ★ Good
Start from the undercling and use the arete for sidepulls / heel. Feels borderline 6b/+
|

6a+ | ★ Two Fingers from Sidon | ★ Good
Climbed along the short crack right of the bolt line. Even found a nice foot jam.

Really good. Start up the crack, challenging exit to the ledge then another tricky (cool) exit to really sharp rock. Best 6b/+ in the sector.
|
||||||
6b+ | ★ La fissura | ★ Good | ||||
Struggled to find beta going up the sharp-edged crack around bolt 3. Route is OK.

Gita West Preliminaries
6c Hard | ★★ Cuckoo Nest | 20m | ★★ Very Good
Very delicate face on bolts 2+3, the rest is much easier.
At the crux I took a left crimp, right hand on textures then crossed right foot above left to a spike.

Nice and easy except for the dirty shelf.

6a+ | ★ Glass Ceiling | 2 | ★ Good
Fun and short, looks harder than it is. You can reach the first clip and the jug next to it from the edge of the cave

6b+ | ★★ Fiddler on the Roof | ★★ Very Good
Fun stuff. Only one difficult clip right after the roof. At my height (170cm) it seems better - though risky - to pass the cruxy roof move before you clip. I had a quickdraw placed by my partner and I barely reached from below.
|
||||||
6b | ★★ Difficult Starts | ★★ Very Good
Fun and smeary open book-ish route. Pre-clip the first bolts for safety.

|
||||||
6b+ Hard | ★★ Another Bolt in the Wall — 3 attempts | ★★ Very Good
Difficult for the grade. Delicate start. One scary move into a decent hold. The runout between bolts 2-3 is not as bad as it seems. You have a choice of jugs to clip the third.
If you climb to the original anchor (shared with the 6a on the left) - note that the last bolt of this route has rusted away. The runout is not too crazy since you top out to an easy section.
|
||||||
6c Easy | ★ Let it Bee | ★ Good
Pre-clipped 2 bolts. Physical start. One reachy move into better holds. Bolted V5 basically.

6c+ ~7a | ★ Grandpa | 13m, 5 | ★ Good
Only tried the crux. 2-3 really painful holds, then a hand bump I couldn't do to reach a bad hold. I think I need an intermediate. Pretty confident in saying it's heavily sandbagged.
|

Fri 22nd Dec 2023 - Zanuah
Royal Road | ||||||

Quick and easy. The last moves are slightly trickier to clip the anchor.
