Ascents of Tobin Brothers

Probably the last trad ascent this route will see. Managed to get a nut and a cam next to each other in the flake about 8-10m up, then nothing until another cam about a meter from the top. Carried a wire brush and had to clean every hold on the way! Should be a nice easy route now that it's clean though.

Tough start but gets easier the higher you get.

Some nice moves, did it twice!

I practiced rigging my portaledge here by building an anchor slung off the third and second bolts. This was an extreme faff, getting the ledge down to Back Wall and home again was also a pain. I'll practice at Lower Tier next time.

After rigging it I opted to lower it to the ground for packing up instead of puddling around for ages.

I finished the lead and was lowered off the ring bolts to clean.

Small holds, so tricky and a bit scary. Holds were also sharp so it was a bit painful in the cold. Hardest section is closer to the bottom with the first few bolts, but it gets easier up higher.

Good climb to set up as a toprope for outdoor beginners, little fickly at the start for them but tapered out after a few moves.

Good for warming up! Though the rock makes yer fingers a bit cold.
