Leighton led this pitch (allegedly 16) in daylight. Mikayla seconded it in twilight. I was last to climb in total darkness. Negotiating the gendarme in darkness was a bit scary. After stepping across the void I must have missed a hand or foothold somewhere and ended up in a totally non-viable position, wedged under an overhang with no footholds to assist me over or around it. I was totally dependent on Leighton and the rope to get me out of it, after an initial free swing of a foot or so, with a vertical drop of about 100 metres below me if the gear had failed – one of my most uncomfortable ever climbing experiences! Made entries in the logbook in the plastic box at the top of the climb before scrambling carefully around Halfway House ledge to rap station. Can't understand why some immature, juvenile, no-self-respect, idiots feel compelled to write inane, peurile obscenities in a logbook (supplied by someone else) in such a position.

Why are the pitches of this multi separated into "individual" climbs? Started climbing at about 2pm and while most of the route was in the shade, there were still a few parts on P1 and P4 that were in the sun. First outdoor climb back in a few months so felt a bit bumbly and I did grab on a quickdraw while clipping.

Pitch 3 providing brown undies like usual. Not enough draws to link p2-3 so had to skip the crux clip and the next two. Grigri didn't feed well on most pitches, something to do with the angle of the live rope because none of the pitches are straight up. Still climbing like a baby deer. I swear lead soloing turns 18 into atleast 25. Climbed every pitch twice and punched the rock more times than I would like to admit feeding slack. Had a little nap on the ledge before p5 so 6hrs car to car total.
