Top roped it to warm up, then lead it, nice and clean and pretty comfortably. Nice one! : ). One borrowed wire.

I find it hard to believe this is 21 and logical variation is 20. I guess it all depends how you approach the crux up the top, and what you think is in which climb. But there is certainly a sequence that goes up and left from the top of the main crack, that's only about 20 (and half a grade easier than the similar move half a metre further over to the left on Logical).

That said, it's an excellent climb, and a great lead especially. Real gorilla my dreams vibes, (but better rests)

Slightly contrived, but I like it. It's a variation after all! Feels a grade harder than fascination all the way up, as long as you don't take the exit to the left at the mantle. No rests, all big slopey holds. Will lead it next time!

Apparently we did a harder (but less chossy) alternative just to the right of the crux. It was definitely harder than 16, maybe 18. Nice route

Clean but a struggle today. Getting into position to do the big LH cross to the jug wuz difficult and also the end. I should do this more often, cool route.

TR only. Got it clean after a few attempts and after encouragement from Bill. Once you get the hold after the crux it feels a lot easier; before that I was thinking it felt like a 21 or 22 as it’s overhanging and difficult at the crux, but once you get the good high part of the LH good hold it almost feels easy. So it’s from the horizontal to the LH side pull, don’t muck around trying other stuff.

Someone glued in a big loose block, then decided that wasn't enough and poured mortar in behind it. WTF. Don't be that person.

Would be worth a star if it wasn't for the glued on chossy 3m stretch and other rattlers.

Still seems easy. Finally found an okay sequence for the start.

Find this rather contrived and not that logical at the start, the upper moves are nice though.

I have projected this before, months ago. I pieced together a sequence, but it just seemed too hard to yard those crimps. Today it actually felt really easy (like grade 19-20 easy). Except the horrible mounting of the block on the approach, that still sucked.

Very nice, delicate climb in three parts. Should have come back down after the first fall so it counted... After the fall I got it comfortably

It's hard not to follow Fascination RHF (which is what my lead did, before setting up the TR, because he was nowhere near the chains...)

A couple of times today. There’s two or three cruxes. Little gaston crimp out left is important. I’d be inclined to give it two stars.

Good enough, scrambly start with a few interesting moves onto the slab, then a very easy finish.

Seems to be quite a bit of gear, not sure why this is bolted.

Was grade 20 trad, now easier due to cleaning and inadvertent bolts.

Did this on lead however mostly used logical variation bolts as there's only the 3 bolts on the route and they're super run out.

Great climb though, it would be spicy only using the 3 bolts.

Used the gear I’d already placed. Need to lead this again ground up

Came off clipping the second bolt. Need to work out the feet

Had toproped it over the years, never got around to a lead. Pretty brittle.

Finished up wee swinger corner, didn't you you should step right, though the bolt placement should have given that away.

Nice top section, pity the good climbing is over too soon.

Couldn’t get it clean. Needs fancy footwork.

On TR but clipping the bolts/investigating nut placement to see how it’d feel as a lead. Decided not to lead. Did it again on TR, both times clean. There’s a small RH crimp on top of the block at the half way mark at the big move which helps one get the good LH hold after. I consider this the first crux. I consider the move at the top (RH undercling at the flake, high R foot) to be the main crux.

Clean lead. Nice route. Went left after the fourth bolt.

TR. I really like this route, a Morialta three star route. Did it quite well.
