Ascents in Northern Tablelands as Pink point

After a beautiful walk in over rolling hills, two tree rappels, an adrenaline inspiring run-out, and a walk home in the dark, today was a certified epic!

An absolute grovel-fest! Great fun though. The jams are solid, getting out from under the roof proved to be the crux. Gear in the wrong place here will result in a deck bro! Bring gloves or tape, and don't pre-place your gear unless you're happy to be bagged out by Carol

I loved this route, naturally clean fist crack to perfect hands and just a bit of finger spice a the end. And a perfect clean topout. Led on Alan's gear but moved the gear around at the crux as it was in the way

First climb of the day and a little damp up top.

First lead on trad gear, Gear pre-placed by Nial

Ben led this and we thought it was an FA. I pink pointed and my sequence was very different, I had a solid knee bar in from the first move (of course I did) and I felt very secure dragging that back step up the whole way until you can stand for the easy vertical crack part

Led it with a sag a meter from the top. Clean second go

Felt a bit anxious but went down. Did a little pop at the crux but caught it and kept going

Such a nice consistent climb

A sneaky 3 hour gorge trip before school pickup. Slowly chipped away over ~5 attempts. Benji worked it and sent it quite smoothly. I butchered it, did the crux and then fell off and got rope burn on my elbow. Next go I sent it despite butchering it even more. I didn't have a single solid jam just pure desperate levitation grovel. Grade is definitely harder than Savage Amusement (supposedly 22), Prime Cut 20, Luce 21. It's not 23, but I think 22 isn't unreasonable. Feels maybe on par with Pub Grubs at 3rd breakaway.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew! Couldn't be bothered cleaning each attempt so we'll settle for the ol pink point. With a few more bodies on this route it'll clean up very nice.

Pretty cruisy, crack is a little gravelly

Real cool little line. Was expecting a fight but flashed it and felt solid all the way

A mix of slab and jams from tips to fists, nice finish to glory jug

Second go did it almost pure layback and much easier. A couple jams at the roof to rest, burned through the second layback section and got a no hands rest in the possum hole. Such a nice route

Lovely rock, perfect first lead for Simon. If only this went for 5 pitches

Short and lovely. As we were packing up my new downie blew into the water and Simon was a champ and went for a brisk swim. Walk out was hard, slow, cramped up a lot

YUS! 3 goes, first was typical flash pump first route of the day. Second was a pretty close one hang. Three is a charm! It is still winter but the sundeck was cooking

This thing is gold! I remeber looking up at it 5 or 6 years ago thinking I should get on it one day....that day finally arrived. Sorted the crux on my first shot and had enough juice to get through it on my second. Great route Michael!

Great route with interesting crux, the top section needs more cleaning and wigged me out and I finished up to the right instead

SEND! No big deal in the end, just take my time and keep shaking out. Good stamina route for me

Had one flash pumpy burn, figured out the start which ended up being the quite straight forward and exactly how I originally thought it would go. Had a second hang at the 3rd bolt which is probably the true crux. Clean second go. The end feels spicy but you just keep moving and its totally fine.

Repeat for the paparazzi. Did something weird at the top and missed a hold and did a funky rockover to finish

Fresh body, turned up late when Michael had just sent and did it clean first go

Quite a challenging move from first to second bolt. A lot of fun and mind boggling for us bluey's slab climbers.

Sick! I haven't climbed here in roughly 17 years, and the last time was hilarious as a complete bumbly with no guidebook attempting one of these routes and failing epically. Maybe half a dozen burns. Is great to siege a hard sports route, it's been a long long time...
