Ascents in The Grease Cave having Beta

Really cool, went bolt to bolt. Consistent punchy moves that progressively get harder. Definitely a really good climb but not something i'm going to put my time into for a while.

Got the most flash pumped i've ever been in my life on the warm up but the moves felt super good and i felt super strong.

WOOOO!!! Somehow my first 27 send, so so so stoked. I've been so busy on harder stuff that this felt super chill. Had a bit of excitement clipping the crux draw as i'm used to a long draw being there.

4th go. Tricky start. Nice upper arete

Did 2 laps. Checked the moves. Fun as dynamic movement and feels pretty reasonable!

One go to sus the moves. Got back on but had nothing in the tank after a long day of climbing two routes....

Good crack climbing, one committing move at the end.

Another few burns on this one. A tiring climb — was feeling a bit wobbly today in general and so forgot all my previous beta and to take any of the great rests. A little more dialled in on some of the harder moves — now to figure out how to beat the pump to link it all. Ultimate MVP to Nicolas Di Campli for being the actual best belayer and keeping the psych going through the literal hours I spent working this.

Chilled and slabby under a tricky roof. Totally shut down two bolts into the roof section – was cool to give it a try anyways and dog my way through moves I definitely can’t currently do. On the bucket list

Can’t quite reach some of the good holds, but found some funky, techy beta that got me through it + was super fun (if not slightly ridiculous) moves. Feet first feels miles better than initial attempts - one to tick off for next time.

little warm up - delicious jams

struggled a bit on this one, keep to try it a bit fresher and see how i fare.

not so much an offwidth as a lay back tried to set some jams but found they didn't really help. it would probably feel less committing shuffling cams than clipping the bots i reckon. Nice to tick something this trip.

Bolt to bolt to see the moves, figured out all bar one and than one may just need me to bar the other knee. It'll take some work but i think it's possible. What a line!

So good to nab this classic. Got it early today too so I can now relax for the rest of the session 😆. First 23 in the bag.

Finally got the crux move down pat. Should get it next time

Felt pretty good for the first burn.

3x redpoint burns all getting dropped due to a wrong right foot placement going for the end kneebar. Just have to remember to keep my foot out right and i will send. Super stoked.

Pretty funky. Nearly pumped out on the sloper rail at the end. 3rd go

Fun, bouldery little route with some cool sequences. Now I just need to link it all together

Insanely happy to have ticked my first 26!! Really, really good climbing on good holds. Nice fun beta intensive crux on crimps surrounded by a sea of jugs. MEGA stoked!!

Rested after the 'cave'. Just needed to commit, easy enough with speed

Got to giant undercling then couldn't 3D my way thru. New to roof climbing

Such a cool climb and totally different to anything I’ve climbed before. Will be back to try again for sure

Fun moves, took a few attempts to get the mental game in order.

second shot. slab at the beginning was super wet, luckily I could dry my foot just after in the rest

Went to battle with the slopey rail before the anchor. It made the sweet nectar of success all the more tasty!

Wow such an awesome climb, nothing overly difficult, just need more endurance.

2 more laps, can see it going soon, doing all the moves consitently but having to sit on bolts still, should get to 1 sit next session.

super cool compression climbing, can see the moves but need way more strength to actually do more then one move at a time.

Finally went after 3 very spaced out sessions this finally went first go of the day, stoked!

Thought this was the 15 and was a bit shocked about some tenuous jamming and finger locking. Another nice crack problem.

This is a great little crack climb, if only it was 2 or 3 times as long. Missed a foothold the first time that simplifies it a lot.
