Ascents in Snowpatch Spire

An Epic! 5:30am - 8:30am. 2 hr apprach, 16 hrs climbing, 8hr repel and return

Attempted to link west Ridge of Pigeon and Surfs up in a day. Turns out Route finding on the first 4 pitches of Surfs up is very complex. I got off route on the first pitch and ended up climbing something closer to 10b on loose rock with little gear. The 2nd and 3'd pitches went better although still felt harder then expected with vertical stemming and little gear to protect. After mucking around route finding on the 4th pitch with no luck we decided to bail. 3-40m raps got us back to ground, but I suspect you could go this with a 70m using an intermediate station after the first rap from the alcove belay.

Climb the first 2 pitches, then went off route for 4 pitches and bailed when regaining the ridge.

Retreat on Pitch 2. Was still very wet

So so close on the splitter pitch! Fat fingers don't help on this one. I will be back.

Phenomenal route. Off width is pretty mellow with two #5s.

Tricky OW!

First 2 pitches were runout adventures, the pitches off the ledge are incredible, especially the splitter hand crack 1000' off the glacier.

Only got 5 pitches up before we got rained out. so much fun, offwidth was tricky

only did the first 5 pitches. Pulled the massive grand piano trundle of the century. This had had at least 2 other ascent and its almost criminal that this block hadn't been pull already. I climbed out unprotected for 10 in 10

Aided the first 4 pitches to see if it was freeable. Maybe but multiple 13+ and 14 pitches are too hard for us right now!!!

only a couple of interesting pitches. Awesome achievement for when it was put up. Lots of pitches were running with water for us...

how often do you climb the same crack for 12 pitches? The coldest conditions I've ever rockclimbed in!
