Flora and Fauna AGGRESSIVE BEES.

As of Oct 2023 there is a massive hive of super aggressive killer bees at the wine barrel and another such hive at red wine wall. We got chased off and stung like crazy. Can barely see out my eyes right now they're so swollen. What was that? Hello?... Is someone there ?

Crag is unclimbable at present.

Thanks for the warning Bruce. Thankfully none of us were allergic otherwise it may have been fatal. Be very cautious out there.

They are still there as of October 2023

Can confirm that there are still two hives present, one large and active hive at the Wine Barrel (a few metres to the right of Whine Route), and another on the Red Wine Wall (along the Time to Wine Down route). The Red Wine Wall hive seems to be inactive, but at the time of inspection it was pretty poor weather conditions, possibly causing the bees to be dormant within their hive. The Wine Barrel hive, however, is still very much active and, owing to its central location relative to the crag as a whole, poses quite the threat to the climbers exploring the crag. We were able to get quite close to the hive owing to the rain and wind, but on a calm sunny day I wouldn't imagine they'd be too forgiving. Tread lightly and visit the crag at own risk.
