Ascents in Arapiles as Pink point

Such a classic! Punted it below the roof first go today, then got the send. An incredible climb, taking in so many amazing moves and cool holds.

Got lucky with some great conditions today. A good fight right till the end. Woke up Ella with my power screams 🤣 whoops

Fell off the crux of ethiopia twice. This is a really great climb, especially in winter

Did this just happen? Apparently yes. A nice surprise after expecting a much longer siege on this route. Beta credit goes to Esther. Belay credit to Rob, who also insisted that I clearly state that my first cam was preclipped just in case the ethics police want to nullify my ascent.

1 shot today after a rest day yesterday. Bad footwork has stopped me on previous attempts. Gotta love smearing, should've ticked it 3rd go, boo hoo hoo.

I did it!

I wanted to hop on something hard for me this trip and this was the line! Had two goes on the second last day and then came back on our last day before heading into Melbourne to see if I could send - and I did so but the skin of my teeth haha. Was pumped silly on the crimpy traverse leading to the deadpoint but just kept having mini-shakeouts between each crimp and launched for the deadpoint and latched it just the same as on my working burns. I did feel slight rope drag settling into the move but I had the hold anyway helped so I feel comfortable claiming the send, and then after catching it, Ryan (who was belaying) fell down the slope and I had to hold on fast to stop myself from being pulled from the hold hahaha.

Placed all the trad gear on lead. Hardest send outside of Qld!

from a while ago... meaning to go back and hop on Ethiopia. didn't rate India really. little boulder problem with admittedly funky climbing but over far too soon.

Great line! Tried many years ago. Trad gear pre-placed.

Fifth attempt over two days - four times I fell screwing up the sequence in a different way. None of those times I was too pumped. Good to finally get what I should have gotten first shot this trip! Excellent route - make sure you bring your crimp strength and endurance!!

So good!!! Always wanted to climb this line. Wasn't sure if I would have enough endurance. It certainly tested me mentally after falling on the last sequence 6x

In the end I needed to use some chooks. Three star climb anywhere else in the universe

29 & a 28 on the same day & a pub feed after, yeah not bad.

One of the coolest sequences of hard crimpy climbing into this epic throw (aka 'the drive-by'). I really love this route and it has been such a mega-project for me over the past year.

Finally.

27 year odyssey comes to an end. Super happy to tick my hardest route ever after turning 50, albeit after building a replica in my garage.

Awesome route but super marginal for me. 4th shot today, maybe 9-10 days all up over the years ... Nearly fell off getting into Cellular - had to rest with a forearm bar at the top for a few minutes before attempting the mantle in light rain !

Happy days ... a big deal for me.

After taking quite a scary fall on this climb a month ago, falling with a handful of slack out trying to clip and nearly hitting the rock behind me, it felt great to climb it today with confidence! 💪🏽

A nice mix of styles in a shady position. Not as many kneebars as I was hoping! 3rd shot.
