Whent out to give it a suss on top rope. First lap felt okay with a few sits and 2nd lap did it clean. It just goes and goes and goes and goes. Super fun day out. What could be better than toproping one of the best routes in the country and spending time up at the Ben with a friend!

A magic line. Not quite as hard as I was expecting, but the gear might be where some extra difficulty comes in. 2 laps, 4 sits on the 2nd lap. So long!

can't really top louis' description of the day. after having a reasonably epic free few years we really tried to make one happen today. we left home at like 10am?? really tempting the ben gods. my first pitch felt long and stout but overall pretty reasonable, and i felt like i'd given enough grunt to pay my rent on the rock. turns out that was just a psychological ploy so the next few pitches would be more exciting. pitch 2 felt like grade 23. very fun on second and honestly I've never seen louis that insecure on a piece of rock before, was humanising to see. he graciously then lead pitch 3 when the bottomless corner crack wigged me out. luckily he is a competent scout boy and was able to top belay me on a munter when he realised at the top of P3 he'd left his belay device down the bottom. P4 was a multistage adventure culminating in a ridge ramble which is my favourite way to top out the day. highly recommend using GPS coordinates to find the walk down ! we made it back to the car just before total darkness (around 10pm), therefore getting close enough to epic territory to be exciting but so close as to actually be miserable

Seriously tough. Pure finger locking on mostly shallow or difficult locks with very few face holds for respite. was fun but my fingers are now minced. Best I could manage was three sits on TR. So Fun!!

The twin cracks and numerous face holds make for an excellent variety in both climbing and gear. You won't need more than a single rack, and can stem, jamb, layback, finger lock, or double-gaston wherever you please.

Very enjoyable - although after 2 laps on Master Blaster the day before, the back of my hands were not happy.

Just did the money pitch

A sustained pitch of 👊 and 🤚 with some hard thin moments too. The jamming doesn't stop, a real workout. Classic climb just slightly dirtier than it's neighbors

We sidled up to the Bens great long climb after a late wake up and a very diligent racking routine from jeroen. I had told him we wouldnt use half the pieces he picked for the gear sling and tried to remember which they were to defiantly boycott their usage during my leads. We turned our attention to less petty concerns once we realised how hard this route was. First move off deck on the crux pitch ive gone for a double ring lock, stem and smear. Ben lomonds response: check mate. I was back on the ledge with sore heels this time. After a steadily accruing fall and sit count, we topped out, ditched gear at 5pm and arrived at an extremely mutual decision to celebrate with beers at the campsite with the mozzies. Middle 3 pitches were absolute lights out. A fantastic multi.

Amazing, unlikely, climbing. Great lead by Steve. I managed to second clean, but it felt pretty hard. My lack of face climbing fitness was showing.

Onsight for the classic second pitch, which felt soft for 20. Maybe 18? Rapped and did Hickory Wind, then finished up the unpleasant exit pitch, which felt burly and scary with only one big cam. 2x 4s and 5 wouldn't go astray.

Got a bit lost on the first couple of pitches. Accidentally sent poor Nate up a pitch of unprotected chossy rubbish, and then a burly, awkward fist crack instead of the normal p2 chimney. Eventually got back on the route but with the late start, all the wasted time and a general lack of enthusiasm it seemed like a better plan to bail than to keep going up. Pretty lame, but you can't win all the time I suppose.

Swinging leads with Nate. I led the long crack pitches 2 and 4. Nate got the scungy access pitch, the crux finger crack, and the burly last pitch that we accidentally climbed instead of the shared last pitch of rockaday johnny. Awesome, sustained and varied route. I was having a high gravity day though and rested a couple of times on the pumpy fourth pitch.

A fun day out on an extremely windy day. I lead all pitches. The route wanders a bit and route finding was tricky at times. Pulled on a few pieces on the last pitch in the interest of time as the day was getting on and the weather was coming in. A #5 cam is handy in a few places.
