Ascents in Heathcliffe having Beta

Real good, very adventurous feeling. Went a bit far left into mossy terrain and had to break it into 2 35m pitches

A full day out with walk over scree, climb, rap and scramble up gully, then walk back over plateau. Stunning, with great conditions.

It is maybe a 3km walk from the car park but it is almost exclusively through the undulating scree and boulders. If anyone in your party doesn't like that (which was the case for my partner), then it will take about 3 hours to get to the start of the climbs. If you're comfortable in this terrain, then the guide book estimate of 1 hour is about right, probably a a bit longer. It is worth roping up for the last 10m of scrambling required to get to the start of the routes.

The climbing itself is good. Protection low down is spaced out and improves a lot the higher you go, but there's loads of good holds and at the grade it was pretty cruisy, even accounting for the occasional loose block wedged into the face.

Given the approach had become an epic, morale was low so we stopped after that one route and bailed to the car.

Approach was 3hrs (guide book says 1hr). Went to the ledge thinking it was Tupelo Honey but couldn't find any gear. Rappelled to the next ledge and belayed the last person's down climb to the ledge. Rappelled from here and retreated.

Like climbing at hillwood! Think it be more popular if were not at the far end

Stunning juggy goodness up to the roof. Pulling the roof is mega. Surprisingly thoughtful climbing for what is basically jugs on slab

Jugs for days, stellar exposure on quality rock. Bit of dodgy approach but you can rope up if you must. We hauled our bags up to the highest belay ledge

Absolute stunning climbing! an amazingly unique piece of climbing for the Ben and Tassie, a sort of make your own adventure of movement through some of the best dolerite holds your monkey mitts will ever feel!

Well the jugs start coming and they don't stop coming, rack full of nuts and I hit the wall running, didn't make sense not to climb for fun, my fingers got worn but my arms got strong, so much to find, so much to climb, so what's wrong with taking the plumb line? You'll never climb if you don't show, you'll never send if you don't blow.

Wow! is there anything dolerite can't do? a journey that all must take! questing up the tessellated face of this climb had me entering into almost an outer body state, the rock was hungry and it had a taste for gear, amazing protection the whole way, an exciting finish pulling through a roof on a grade 18 on the Ben!! Absolute class

Best pitch of climbing of my life so far! Epic and varied moves, good protection, and a hang from a roof near the top! Worth the trip to the mountain just for this route. Decent is a challenge.

Engaging bridging, stemming and side pulls on good rock with good gear. Takes lots of finger sized cams.

Very good face climbing, well worth the walk, not the usual sand bag choss fest

Very dirty with lots of loose rock.

Great exposed route on interesting rock. The jugs just keep coming. Not sure on best way to approach the start, but heading up the chimney/gully directly underneath Lost and Found Dreams is not recommended.
