Talked dave up from an afternoon at Villawood to a day outside, on the strict requirement that we have a super cruisy day on Darkside / silk rd. At the carpark I specifically said "I have the 6, 5 and doubles of 4 to 1, so you'll need to bring everything below a 1 please". He accidentally mis-interpreted that to mean that I had nuts and only a single rack of .75-.1, and decided to bring a SINGLE rack of small cams and NO nuts, and left the rest of his gear in the car. We also forgot the tape gloves Rappelled into the crag. Started arguing over whether or not we were lost when it became apparent there was no chimney. After scrutinising many topos we realised we'd rappelled into samarkand by accident. dave was very unhappy. I was very unhappy we had not brought nuts. I weighted passively placed cams for the first time in my life. It was a very sloppy ascent by two friends who had not outdoor climbed since they last saw each other in Arapiles many months ago (i think). Our hands got wREckED. Great chit chat in the car ride home though.

Climbed in the same style as the FA. Agree with Will’s comment for consistently 19. Hugh said he was happy to have the first rooflet to belay under as it was consistently drizzling bits of rock. At one point I did send down a fairly large chunk. And at another point Hugh pulled off a huuUUuge chunk and it exploded in a mushroom poof of powder Also, prepare to battle small plants pretty much every few metres. (!!!) a 70m rope JUST got me to the anchors with a few m to spare, so I don’t think the description is accurate. Probably don’t use a 60m that would really suck.

The plan was to lead this but we stuffed up the rappel, ended up next to some sport route, jugged back up and found the line when the sunlight had started to turn orange. Would’ve had enough time if we had done the approach in under 3 hours. But. At least it wasn’t 4. Block of death was very “127 hours”-ish. Also served a minor inconvenience to have to chimney around.

Team climb? Lead the finger crack up till the face climbing section and came down to let Laurie lead the rest of the climb from there. Slippery crimp + pull move to get through the face section 🫣. Lack mental capacity for these things.

2020 middle of yr - climbed the trad (first) half, then bailed at the start of the sport (second) half. The crux is probably somewhere on that flat slab Did this twice, thanks to whoever left a bail biner at the first bolt both times I was at piddington.

You know its a late start when you meet a group of people finishing at the top of their multi, before you start the rappel down to the crag. Would rate this 4 stars, every move on each pitch is at the grade, no jug runs whatsoever.

Led both this time. I feel like this jumped at least 1.5 grades since the last time I climbed this Test tugged a meagre 0.1 in the second pitch and the chockstone it was against dislodged itself and came off the wall. Another chockstone the belay line was resting against split into 2 chunks from the weight of my seconder when he started jugging up. Held onto it until he reached the top and then let it fall where it took out a third chunk it hit along the way with it lol
