Climbed as a giant 50m single pitch from the ground, because I couldn't be bothered rebelaying P1 was onsight from the 3rd bolt up. Good climbing on all pitches, though snappy rock (especially due to lack of traffic) demanded some delicate climbing -though I don't think I broke anything off.

Fantastic position – super airy! Thin pleasant climbing. There are definitely harder 22s in the Blueys. I guess it probably earns the grade due to the exposure. It's pointless taking cams down for the route, as you don't need them. I took #.75-3 cams just in case not knowing what to expect given it's a new route (the route changed from a 21 sport to a 22 mixed trad the morning of the climb!) but didn't end up using any as it's well bolted. Good fun.

Possibly the first repeat by someone not on the FA team (neither Jason nor I knew anyone else who had done it) - and I have to say this is a brilliant addition to Blue Mountains climbing!
Despite some soft rock that can be expected on a long new route, almost all the loose stuff will clean up with another few repeats and all belays are protected from rockfall. There isn't anything too ugly, and gear is much better than expected (look both ways in the chimney). When it comes to large gear, we brought three 4's a 5 and a 6. The 5 and at least two of the 4's are necessary, but the 6 only protected the first few ~gr18 moves of P1 and spent the rest of the climb sandbagging the follower. P1 - Not the best gear, whether you bring the 6 or not. Up worrying flake or corner with care. P2 - Brilliant climbing and gear once past the chossy start, very much Samarkand P2 in style but 5 grades easier! P3/4 - If you want the full value ~60m marathon chimney experience, end P3 early below chimney/roof (hanging stance off threads - do it 🤪). Then P4 quests forever into the void... we had a 70m rope, not sure if a 60 reaches. P5 - Funnily enough, the most dangerous part of the route is probably the fully bolted ~gr15 traverse. Easy, but be careful with breaking footers on second, you don't want to take that swing! P6 - Is ok. Bolts. P7 - Is absolutely insane for the grade - brilliant and relentless face climbing. I think that the true "line" wanders left after 3 meters, and stays left of the first bolt (don't clip it! climb left of it entirely on gear) before rejoining the bolts at the 2nd bolt and questing up past the 3rd and some more gear. Whatever I climbed felt every way 22, but going direct and clipping the first bolt looked even harder. All in all: great climbing and good gear, easy access and wild hanging belays - go do it! |

Very old school tradventure. Lots of fun architecture to climb. However, also quite a lot of loose stuff to be wary of. Not a climb for the faint-hearted! Good call in the guide to take lots of big gear. Grades on the first and second pitch are reversed. 1st pitch is 17 and 2nd pitch is 14.

Bloody awesome climb. What a route!
Thank you Eww for doing such a great job bolting this route and also really appreciate the effort you have put in to make the approach safer. Beautiful sustained climbing throughout. The last pitch is probably the money pitch. Got pretty pumped on the climb. Hanging belay was awesome! Milica Djurovic thanks for the beta on how to find the place. Maybe your notes should also be on thecrag because I actually found them more helpful than the actual approach description. One small favor to ask from climbers going in to do this climb in the future. Please contribute to the maintenance of the cairns on the approach. We didn't any problems finding the place but some cairns needed a helping hand. The walk in is so beautiful, saw one of the best sunsets ever on the way out. |

Dang awesome multi, bit of a rough approach since I went sockless, but once you get there it’s a wow moment. Surrounded by gross valley and then an impressive near vertical wall to the top. Juggy yet pumpy 1st pitch, juggy and fun 2nd pitch , 3rd pitch adds some spice and is more vertical. Epic climb and best multi I’ve done during this blueies trip.

Really good multi that is what everyone should do before attempting Bunny Buckets; it's about the same grade but only half as many climbing pitches and with good phone reception, and you can rap off and easily walk out at any point. Dragged my non-climbing mate James up it and he frothed, smashing out the first two pitches and having a sit on the third. Would be great in conjunction with the first two pitches of Serendipitous Cracks as we originally intended!

Snow and wind probably wasn't the best conditions for this climb, but I guess it did add to the adventure. First pitch was an absolute chossy mess, but my perspective might be skewed by Josh breaking off multiple holds and throwing a jug in my general direction. The first wall of the last pitch is where the classic climbing was, with fun, technical moves between the juggy scoops.

Stoked to finally go climbing outdoors with Ev! While the guide claims the approach "keeps the hordes away", on a Sunday we still managed to meet another party on the trail heading to the same climb. Seems like none of us could see where the trail split off from the saddle, but we managed to bash through to the ledge anyway (I feel bad about the erosion though, the gully soil was very soft presumably after everything burned).
P1: the eroded/honeycomb chute to the right of the bolts offers plentiful jugs (not all of which threaten to break off), though I generally kept something on the face to the left (because that's where the bolts are). The moves only felt 17 but are sustained at that grade. P2: Nice flowing climbing. Characterised by the many thin ironstone edges, again there are lots of holds though not all are trustworthy. The blunt, bulging arete threatens to add some pump, but rests can be easily found with a shift in body position and a handy jug. P3: after a small ledge the holds thin out a bit, but there are some side pull things and small crimps at the crux, and when things are getting a bit desperate at the slopey break, there are some pockets at the back of that too. Admittedly I was feeling pumped as I topped out! Fun climbing; hopefully not too many of the holds crumble away for future ascensionists. |

One of the best multi-pitch climbs at that grade. REALLY exposed and all the better for it. Well bolted if not over bolted... most people will climb to the right of the bolts on the bigger holds on the first pitch, but don't go too far right or you risk catching your rope on the iron stone. Don't shy away from this climb in the summer, when we climbed on 12th Dec it only got sun at 11am so do an early start. Can easily be climbed in 3 hours. Also it seems to stay dry even after heavy rains and no seepage!! I would not advise climbing if there is a westerly or northerly wind. Other than that, enjoy one of the Blueies best.

Everything I wanted out of a multi pitch. Amazing views, enough exposure to make me feel like I'm going to sh*t my pants and a belay ledge I can lay down on and soak it all in.
P2 felt the hardest! Somehow I couldn't find the path of least resistance and climbed via matching on crimps left to right. I will have to lead this one next Ryan Cooper |

Nice long first pitch gets you into a cool position over the valley. Some interesting if not hollow sounding hold added to the adventure at least at the start.

First multipitch. Big thanks to Will for organising and setting up anchors ahead of us (and also giving us a crash course in anchor building and belaying from top).
The approach in took longer than we thought, and we thought we went past where the saddle broke but no, it really was just that long. After scrambling from the saddle there's nice traversing of rock with ropes as handrails that we clipped onto. The wall itself was amazing. All the rock felt grippy and no fear of slippery fingers. Was a bit cosy with 3 of us after the first pitch since Will wanted to stay back to review our belay setup. Lucy led the second pitch where she had to deal with my very shitty belay not helped by the fact that the rope was twisted as and we didn't bother to fix it. Third pitch has a very nice extended sequence near the end that tests your endurance; I barely had enough strength to hold onto jugs after that. With the extra faff from double checking our setups for safety and taking liberal rests what was originally a planned 2-hour stint on the wall turned to 4 hours with the whole group finishing at around 6. Got lost on the way out as we turned right instead of left after traversing past the small clifflet. Probably added 30-40 mins to our exit which was not pleasant especially with 65km/h gusts trying to blow us off our feet. The pad kee mao I had after was the first full meal I had that day and I savoured every bite. Overall would recommend but not keen on doing that approach again. Great day out nonetheless! |
P1 was a great sustained burly quest.
Fell off 2 bolts from the top of P2 on the onsight -got a bit lost from the bolt positioning and ended up in no man's land.
P3 was awesome rock and "oozy" style climbing.
