Really cool rock for most of the way. two lil cruxes but nothing diabolical worth the walk up the hill!

Nice rock, and some great moves up an aesthetic face. The upper half is just good climbing.

I did not look at the bolts.... Good warm up with a cool vague flake sequence at the top.

Much better than it looks. Some technical face/slab up fairly nice grey rock. The bolts are terrible, though.

2nd shot. Got rather scared getting to the 4th bolt on the Onsight. A radical (but sketch) roofy crux down low, followed by course crimping up the arete. Stay off the chimney/opposing wall for the full tick.

Great climb. Did it in one pitch. Lots of drag. Can be done in two pitches.

Was too scared to fall!
Really run out at the end. Had a crappy wire placement 8m before finish.
Maybe I missed something.

Fantastic climb! Makes you think, but when it’s good, it’s good.
It’s a mixed climb. 3 bolts and multiple horizontal cracks. A single bolt belay and a large cam placement 2m above the bolt to the right. Finish is the same for on any Sunday |

Stacked! So many dropable moves the whole way up. A face-climbing connoisseur's delight! Seconding the First Ascent clean -I almost came unstuck when the FA decided to use a locked locking bina bolt-side at the hardest crux, resulting in some mid-crux desperation. A classic for sure.

Super exposed arete climbing. Would be 3 stars but the rock is slightly less than perfect. Very technical, yet steep and pumpy.

24 | ★★ Not the Messiah - with Heath Black | 38m, 17 | ★★ Very Good | Sat 19th Sep 2020
Certainly much more sustained than its neighbour, and with a proper hard crux at half height. Fortunately the ending is easier. I had to give this some welly to get through it. A route feels really long when you aren't ever "really" just cruising

23 | ★★ Forever War - with Heath Black | 40m, 18 | ★★ Very Good | Sat 19th Sep 2020
A nice long pitch of slabbing on generally good rock. The finale in particular is rather exciting through steepness and a wild mantle.

Checked this out as a potential service to Matt B of Mt B, who could literally walk to his local with a tin mug of tea still hot, if not impeded by the crowds of instaspammers picknicking on the paragliders astroturf.
As for "Us", carefully navigate between broken breaks with very sharp ironstone edges with a few bits of pro then up a bumbly slab to the shared anchor - sorry, Mr B! |

As an experience I'd give it 5 stars although it's neither hard nor really interesting. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't an old moonshine smuggling route from the valley up the prominence of the ridge to the lookout, up which they used to haul barrels of grog on hemp ropes. Still, there it was, ground up solo to an unknown destination with a view to make one weep.

Well-enough protected overhanging gibbon-style start leads straight into beached-whale belly-roll onto shale ledge followed by meerkat-style mantle off dead tree ... bring on the mixed metaphors and 54 year grade creep!
Struggled hard for the onsight then cruised up the 20m of grey slab with some lichen and very few options for modern protective devices, so once again, B minus for Mr B. Still, there was warmth just round the corner out of the wind. |

The climb was marked with S-F.
Very dirty climb, in need of some gardening(with an excavator?). The last pitch would be fantastic, great big holds, perfect sized crack for pro but Your left foot will stem onto a very mossy wall, and the wind tends to blow all the dirt right into your face. After you top out, you need to walk carefully up a scree slope to the lookout. Belay from posts? Or some old stumps. The other pitches had me second guess placements as each rock seemed to be individual. Nothing came out but still. Recommend Double checking your placements. |
