Really fun slabbing, right up until the mystifying top crux. Either need some fancy beta, fancier footwork or to grow 4 more inches..

6.5hrs car to car! A great, heady, adventurous multi-pitch adventure with a decidedly old-school feel. Have your headgame in check before you attempt this one! All but 2 of the pitches have real quality. P1 (23) - 2nd Clean. Great, pumpy climbing right off the ground. P2 (22M1) - Onsight. I had a huck at the 25 free version, but the crimp-dyno off the belay was kind of hideous. Funky hard start (after the aid move), then average wandery, dangerously runout rambling on easy-ish terrain and dubious rock. P3 (22) - 2nd Clean - The slab-arete start is brilliant, after which its just enjoyable orange thinness. Easyish for the original 23 grade? P4 (24M1) - Onsight. Had a bit of a go at the free version, but it's very its very illogical from below (it only made sense when I was well above it). Onsighted the 24M1 version by pulling on a single bolt to gain the next hold. A thrilling, and terrifyingly committing sequence to gain and turn the arete (feet first?????), then technical thin climbing up the left-side of the arete to the top. Brilliant. P5 (24) - 1 Fall (right at the end of the hard moves) on 2nd. D'oh! A brilliant, pumpy, power-endurance pitch on great rock, and quite sustained for the first half. Super-exposed position. P6 (10) - Onsight. A junky, loose exit pitch. Meh.

some of the coolest moves on a traverse I've ever done, full span crosses, techy up moves, rubiks cube to solve a way through it, not the most ideal ropesolo due to its orbiting nature, I had to unclip as many draws as woulda been clipped had I been leading.

45 metres of pumpy orange goodness. Andy onsighted the full climb then lowered back the the top of the first pitch. I second the first pitch with some wild and hard traverse moves then keep plugging to flash top pitch. Pretty dang pumped at the cliff top. Windy!!

Far superior to Spoilt Brats and Gash Attacks! Some of the best rock in the Blueys. A hard warmup. Climbed the 2 main pitches as a giant 45m pitch. Seconded the doddle trad access pitch; Pink Point the traverse (I ended up too low (below the roof) mid-traverse, had to do a DESPERATE move to get back on-line, then ended up going too high and falling off right at the end. It went 2nd shot); Onsight the pumpy top pitch despite epic rope drag and mega flash pump. Brilliant climbing as a big pitch.

2 gos, clean on 2nd. Thought the 1st part of the climb was shared with Minor Threat at grade 20 and got slightly caught by surprise.

Climbed the first pitch (flake and traverse towards anchor) to clean the route and it felt pretty cool! Spicy traverse which is a bit airy.

Climbed in one pitch which was an adventure and a bit outrageous really. Takes the longest line of the wall up the most beautiful rock. As mentioned.. The two rope technique works a treat to reduce drag. Even though it may not be politically correct to call this a flash as I have climbed the starting flake on my onsight of "spoilt brats" I feel I flashed this route as all the hard/significant bits are afer the "access" flake.

First shot today, in the freezing gale-force wind. Entertaining traverse, bizarre overhanging arete-feature (full of huge holes), and a thin face climbing finale. It's a shame about the terrible rock on the arete feature, because the climbing, the feature, and the exposure are outrageous. Coupled with the mixed-bag first pitch this probably doesn't deserve a star, but it's still a crazy adventure!

+5 stars for position -1 star for dirtiness -2 stars for the absolutely mingus jingus splingosity of a choss pile on the first pitch. -1 for the choss on pitch 2 Hence 1 star is accurate. After going up the Phoenix the grade 15 first pitch felt like nails, a sentiment potentially added to by the fact that less than 60% of the rock is load-bearing. Very much an access pitch, the fixed hand line is a goer! The second pitch has a rather exiting traverse which, whilst on good holds, felt stiff for 19. It then goes up the awesome feature that you came for. Tuck those knees into kneebars, shake those arms out and froth over the exposure! Matt lead this one finding himself a little bit off route and was relieved to find the ring bolt out to the left. He successfully climbed the whole pitch without gear for the brownpoint (similar to a green point but in reverse). This is very much not the recommended style for this route. The gear is possible but takes some finding. Not a lead for those just squeaking out 19s. Still... The exposure is so so so cool. Loved it! *NOT A CLIMB TO DO IF SOMEONE IS ON THE PHOENIX*

FFA. Wow that went a little easier then I expected, the starts thin but its all about the footwork. Climbs on the left side of the arete the whole way (I climbed onto the right at one point and the rope around the arete was scary.) Such a mega line up big arete, proud indeed. Came off trying to stick the utterly desperate move above the 3rd bolt. Highly agree with the other comments - just pull past this and do the route at 22M1 to open up a super enjoyable and engaging arete route. The 2 cams are bomber but the first placement is hard to see until you've climbed above it. Sent it clean above that minging 3rd bolt move
