Ascents in Farside

Couldn't work out the big move at the start but the rest of the climbing on this is rad. Let down a little by the rock quality at the finish.

Hard, Second GO Sustained, crimpy, techny, pumpy, long. Awesome!

Tough number! The crux crimp section seemed ludicrously impossible until I found an unchalked, unticked CRUCIAL hold that made the sequence merely very hard. Quite tough the whole way, with a lot of glued on holds, and really weird, techy climbing. I'm keen to try it again.

Hard, sustained and sharp!! Not the best route for the end of the day. Got close on the second shot but the pain got to much at the end of the crux. Good climbing but hard for the grade.

Painfully sharp! Another lap putting together the numerous sequences. It all feels quite possible with skin and energy, but 1 move has me stumped. Hard to know whether this justifies additional laps in the future. Some engaging and tricky climbing after the crux crimp section all the way to the anchors.

Sweet, something ticked today off the dog list. Dont underestimate this long sustained and some times confusing test piece. Even once to get through the crux it still a long way before you reach the thank good jug. I really had to dig deep to stick this..

waited to late in the day to get on this (sunshine) , but had a suss of all the moves and i look forward to jumping back on next time out to send!

Thought i'd have a look but this is not a summer route, with those little crimpers.

Huge onsight fight up this monster only to have it all come undone at the death. Boooo!

Sliver service by Paul. Draws up, key holds chalked, beta sorted and gifted the flash to me. First move is the hardest but there are plenty more above to raise a solid pump with a tricky direct final move. Climbs really well for a choss pile

2 shots. Linked cleanly from just above the 1st bolt to the anchors! I can do the opening boulder problem, but it felt too tweaky (especially with my upcoming trip) so I opted to pull through it. The rock quality is pretty average, but the climbing is actually quite fun. Lots of steep jugging with an exciting finale.

Sussed out the moves and did it the next go, cool to climb to the top of this wall, quite juggy the whole way.

2 attempts. Probably not the best connies for a hard slab. Linked the slab start, but really struggled on the upper half of this climb today. I'm gonna blame the conditions #ExcusesForDays

Crimpy, sustained, techy. Even after the crux, not over yet. Very much enjoyed trying this. Felt quite hard, but keen to give it another whirl

I jumped on this one thinking I was on Bumbalong road. Either way, It is an amazing route. Dropped it at the very top, just under the anchor on my 3rd attempt of the day.

Technical thin crux. Sustained up top.

Not so good and pretty hard at the start, definitely better 24's here. The climb gets better after all hard climbing at the start is over.

2nd shot. Not great. A bit stop-start and kind-of cruxy. Not a great warm-up.

That start boulder on cold fingers...

The draws were up so I gave it a lash. Really fun sub 25 climbing up to the middle double boulder. Punted the crux second shot, boned down and snuck through for a third shot send.

First 28 in a day

warm-up for the day... bit of a gnarly fingery move down low which my cold fingers didnt appreciate but otherwise a nice long warm up.

Fantastic route and moves! Nothing too extremely hard (start is quite hard though); but a hell of a pumper. Bolt to bolt.

Three shots- great and not too hard to the thin crux, then maybe 23/4 after that. Just like Spain!

Just had a little play on the moves while Pommy's draws were up. Good fun, didn't do the crux though and didn't go to the anchor.

Very keen to spend some more time on this. Fairly crusiy climbing to a dynamic crux, then all about trying to control the pump to the chains. Feels on the easier end of 28, but i'll save final judgement till sendage!

3 working laps today... New high point! Although success eluded me today, after refining some crux beta i'm feeling fairly positive it will go down soon!

Unfortunately no sendage today. So close though!

Yeeuuww!!! 3rd shot of the day! The unexpected sends are always the sweetest. couldnt have done it without my squad!

A much nicer way to do this is by starting up Caption Kirk, makes for a good, long warm up.

Starting up Captain Kirk is the best way to do this route. Great long pumper on good rock. 2 laps for a warm up.

Aided the start and crux. Found this mega hard and quite sharp. Moves from the crux to anchors were cool.

Urghh. I think I have done everything I want to do at Farside for a little while.
