Wahhh, 1st move is already so bouldery for the shorties. Fell of the onsight attempt going for the right hand hold. Involve a alright left side pull and high right feet and gotta go for the ok ledge. Not that good as well, but regardless, or just pull on the quickdraw. Super sustain lower half consisting of crimps and reachy moves to a cruisy end on Jugs.

Repeat ATTEMPT, not clean today. Pretty psyched with my efforts today (2 years after I was last on this), with only 1 sequence giving me actual trouble in the final crux (though I had a foot-slip at the bottom), and many of the other sequences being climbed in a controlled, locked-off, contemplatory manner, rather than the "speed-ascent, lots-of-beta" approach I originally did this pitch in. Some times you go back to a route and it doesn't live up to your memories of it... this wasn't one of those routes. Mega rock, amazing position. A long, serpentine-esque wandery journey around the East Face.

Repeat ATTEMPT, not clean today. Another stupid foot-slip at the start (new shoes? Excuses, please?), but otherwise, only the upper crux gave me real grief until I worked out my silly beta for it. More sustained than its lefthand neighbour, and probably harder moves, though without the wandery, cryptic nature. Again, generally brilliant rock (for the Blueys), and I was psyched to be able to improvise sequences only vaguely half-remembered with real strength an control rather than speed and beta. A joy to re-climb, an as good as I remember. The back-to-back half-pad mono crux at the start is improbable!

Extended Gear Beta for ground-up attempts...

Ignore if you wish to go for the complete onsight.

Read on if you wish for bit more safety...

Small cam and C3 00/Metolius Offset 0 protect up to the roof. Good old style BD 4 or reasonable DMM in slot in corner of roof, equalised with WC 0 offset in roof... Optional Black Totem around the roof to left. Climb through the roof.

Medium wire and small cam in corner crack above roof. WC Offset 2.5 or maybe a similar Metolius/Totem in strange pocket to right. Traverse right a few metres to below crux. Good Red DMM, not Totem, in horizontal that uses the best part of the hold, and/or small wires/ micro cams in thin horizontal above. This is the crux gear here, and has been fallen on...

Climb through crux. Optional Red Totem after the crux but could cause problems if being seconded. Yellow to Silver DMMs should cover the rest. Belay, Purple to Yellow Totems.

Tie in to both ends of a rope (or two ropes) and use one for first section only. Clip second rope into black Totem (if used) and the good gear in crack above roof. Find rest with knee bar assist and untie first rope then climb on. This manoeuvre avoids rope drag across lip of roof. You could also solo up the face to the left, traverse over and place/pre-clip this gear to pre-protect the start if that fits your ethics.. YMMV.

My trad ascent back in the day was with a rest before the crux, 24M0. Good luck, stay solid, make sure your gear is good, have fun and try not to break your ankles... Cheers...

Annoyed at myself on this attempt. Managed to navigate what was probably the flake crux to get to the jugs, then chose the wrong hand sequence and barn-doored off before I had a chance to react.

After hauling back from a long whip I cruised the crux again and used the obvious hand sequence to get to the anchors.

Very good for the grade. Wouldn't recommend climbing it around 2pm though as the sun is straight in your eyes and the moves upwards and rightwards aren't helpful for this
