Shitty anchor, run out

Leading this route is probably safer than top-roping this. The top anchor is quite far right from the route

Hard for the grade, and a bit run out.

Slipped and rested after first bolt.

Really struggled with the roof on this, took multiple attempts and ended up passing round the left of it. Will come back for the lead, great short climb.

Delicate crux, not terrible once you find your own beta.

Super good value at the grade, might go a little harder then 12 at the top.

Difficulties working out the right way to go past the first bolt makes this a tough lead for the grade. Check the uploaded photo for beta.

Like most climbs here a tricky start soon eases. Fun.

Maybe it's a case of one too many routes or just that I'm old and weak but this seemed pretty desperate to me. Even after stick-clipping the first bolt I still couldn't do it without a rest getting to the 2nd bolt. By the time I got to the 4th and final bolt I was pretty much paid and rested again. And if I hadn't done an imitation of a bottle brush in the mossy groove I would have peeled near the top. Will try again another day when I'm fresher.

Led without using the stick clip. Scary! Past the top bolt bridged across the groove, possibly naughty but nice.

Easier than Gary's Groove but still a bit scary to get up to the first bolt.

Last route of the day, easier than I remember.

Did this thinking it was a grade 12, found it a little tricky lol.

Came in from the right. Will have to go back and try it direct.

Did the Piker's Variant to clean the route. Not trad, easy to clip the bolts.

Tried the crux off the block many times until my arms blew up. Finished the route by using Digger to avoid the crux. Don't even want to discuss what happened at the top.

Last bolt is pointless as one can simply reach over and clip the anchor before doing the last move.

Ticked a route I hadn't done before. Back in the day, I avoided routes named after funeral parlours.

Finished the day by doing a repeat of this route but this time properly up the slightly overhanging arete. Not much harder.

My alter-ego put up this route in a quiet late afternoon session. It's an interesting and well protected leftward rising traverse with a consistent level of difficulty throughout.

Tried and failed. Very hard for the grade.

Tough route to grade but leaving it at 14. Crux is probably reaching the final bolt.

Finally got around to leading this route although it does seem like there is one more route than lines on this sector so it always feels like you're climbing eliminates. I mostly just climbed it for the independent bottom section. I reached over and clipped Skippy's first 2 bolts and after the solitary bolt of BB I climbed the second runnel right of the half-pipe of moss before finishing at Skippy's anchor.

Having climbed Brian Boru and intending to climb Jack and Jill wanted to check Skippy for independence. If one climbs the first runnel right of the moss-filled half-pipe at the top staying left of the bolts, it's wholly independent.

Having climbed Brian Boru to Skippy's anchor, I finished this one at the Undertow anchor. Certainly some sharing of holds.

I really struggle to give this a 16 especially when comparing it to Gary's Groove (15) or even the two 14s right of Locris. The bouldery start is fun but not all that hard unless there was some completely contrived way I was missing. As for the extra bolt at the start, I have to reach down to clip that and it can easily and safely be done without. I give it a 15 but no way am I going to downgrade someone else's route.

Rob wanted another go on this, so I went up and gave him a top belay and talked him through it.

This is a solid 15 but no harder. One can reach the first bolt safely starting on the right then a bouldery crux. The steep upper section can be negotiated by bridging the mossy pipe for 1 move.

Seconded it to go back to the car to get my bolt plates.

Think this is the first time I've climbed this route but hard to say. Not Bad!

I agree with Rob, compared to the other routes on this wall, 12 seems a bit stiff.

Climbed it from the start of A King.

Plan was to finally open this one before the hordes arrived. Unfortunately they arrived while we were finishing our warm-up on Rising Damper. Anyway, they let us finish up and we did it quickly then left them to it. Not as exciting as Rising Damper, but something different, ... on a quiet day.

Great warm-up. Don't forget to take a sling for the second runner.

Definitely don't belay this climb from the gum tree but from directly below.

Abbed down this and made sure the bolts were okay. Also didn't see any suss tcu placements. If you're worried about clipping the top bolt you can get a #3 cam in around to the left to keep it safe.

Crux confused me, spent to long figuring out how to lean back without falling to find a good position... little whip.

Pumped out just below the anchor. Went left over ledge and clipped to anchor from above... (don't recommend, bit sketch). I need to train more...

Neat little climb, don't recommend rapping from it, either walk off or get lowered. Fun boulder-like finish.
