Ascents in Churchman's Brook by Kym Campbell

First half is good, then you just wander to the top it seems. Very run out past the 3rd bolt, which is rusty and needs replacing.

Long runout to the 2nd bolt, better after that. Maybe there are trad placements, but I didn't have any gear so I wasn't looking. Not recommended.

The crux is well protected, with the tree for backup. Thanks, tree.

Looks terrible, but it's not even that good. More like vertical bushwalking than rock climbing.

Undignified start, but an excellent puzzle overall.

0.5 Camalot is the best option to protect the crux, though it's a bit of a reach and you might not get a look at your placement until you climb past it.

A #0 C3 Camalot did the job at the crux. Some of the pro is doubtful.

Nice climb. The pro gets better the higher up you go, though with the usual Churchman's runout at the end.

If you stay on the face and out of the big crack to the right, it's harder than 13. Well protected with a #1 Camalot to get off the ground and some excellent nut placements after that.

Good placements for nuts and hexes. The 2nd half is run out, but you're hardly going to fall.

Insecure moves on suspect pro down low. Easy moves on top notch pro higher up.

Climbed in 2 pitches(!), to practice changing leaders on a multi-pitch route.

Much better when it's dry.

Tried the lead, got to the sentry box and chickened out of the finish with one small nut behind a flake preventing a possible ground fall. Did it on top rope afterwards. Probably should have done it the other way around.

Trad 101

A bit of fun. Mainly did it for the name.

Couldn't find protection for the crux, so I bailed on the lead. Then Ashley found a decent nut placement, so I finished it on second with my tail between my legs.

So very crimpy, expect some finger pain. A good one to toprope - the runout on lead is pretty outrageous unless you take some cams with you.

Failed to see a foot hold and fell trying to make do. Even so, I'm thinking about the lead. Great climb.

Onsight attempt, fell going past the 4th bolt. Beautiful, sequency climbing. Clipping the 5th and 6th bolts sure keeps you focused. Should be able to get it next time.
