Ascents in Devil's Peak

Excellent!

Mid-Flinders-road-trip bouldering/hiking stop at Devils Peak. Nice easy slab climb which everyone managed (including Lu who I don't think had ever really climbed before, in borrowed climbing shoes)

Fun, bit harder more committing than the LHV

Fun top few moves, lots of bolts

Thought provoking finish. Not fun with freezing fingers

The routes along this wall’s grade seems to be based purely on the awkwardness of the flop on top. This has quite easy climbing up until the hip popping flopping

TREEBAR! Large handhold broke off just under the second bolt - still plenty around there though.

Climbing is better than the route name.

Thought this was the best route on this wall, although the start was vague.

Incredible! The best climb in the area. has it all, laybacks, exposed aretes, a wild traverse. All with great gear.

This is absolutely sensational! A bit of everything, but the step right onto the blank wall is the EPIC part. Find those underclings that make the impossible possible and go for glory (I used a slightly over cammed #4 there) the bolts at the top are ok , but the fixies were not. I managed to open the gates on one of them (when the screw part of the gate split in two) and I left an aluminium screw gate biner of mine to replace that one, but couldn’t open or replace the others by hand - need pliers next time.

The rhs of the crack is all stacked loose blocks, tread lightly, otherwise super fun

Lower slab is well bolted and easy fun. Had some beta from Jackson for the last section before the mantle but I was about a finger-length too short from being able to reach the good rail right handed, so had to climb it differently (left hand first, match, then to the top)
