Turns out we rapped down the wrong route to access the moai - turned into an absolute mission to retreat. Fortunately left a fixed line on pitches 1 & 2. Jugged up the first pitch, then gave the second a crack for fun - a few metres in I ripped a big ol' jug off the wall resulting in an unexpected whip and dropping a cam from my mouth about 40m to the ground. Decided to jug up this pitch after that. I think it took 5ish hours to get our party of 5 out of there.

Topped out on sunset after a stunning autumn day in a beautiful location. 3 White Bellied Sea Eagles watched over us for most of the day. One to remember.

Great climbing for when the Moai's busy, or even in its own right!

Great route. More sustained than SS with airy positions moving around the roof and making the traverse to the left hand crack. Face features keeping it ok for the grade. One hang to collect myself after the traverse.
Mallion at the anchors quite rusty and the alloy biner someone has added is now fused on there and starting to look a little sad itself. What's the deal with the miniature hardware used in this area? Chains and welded ring. |

With Gene to escape the Moai. Onsight P1, clean 2nd P2. Not as bad climbing as you might expect for an exit climb. P1 is an easy runout (slightly loose) ramble, and P2 is a pleasant series of cracks, and quote easy for the grade.

Found this one to be pretty great although chossy in the wide crack near the arête. We thought the grade was more 17/18. Pat Lead.

Did a bit of a variant since Nads cruised up Sacred Site. After the first step, climb the thin flake 3m to the right of the chimney, continuing up the face above. Pretty nice!
