Led this with Pete who was on the FA. I loved every minute of this, leading pitches 1 and 3/4. P1 is thin, the classic pitch tho is the pitch where you traverse the mega crack, mantle, then blast up this overhanging v-corner seemingly hanging way out over lake bellfield. You sort of have this feeling that you're so far up there's no chance of you hitting anything if you fall, so you just relax, enjoy the outragoeus position, and climb! i REALLY enjoyed this climb!!

Lead pitch 2.
Not sure if I was on route on pitch 2. I ended up doing a roof traverse ~20m in and built a hanging belay immediately after. It's probably easier than 19 this way, especially compared with the bold crux on the first pitch.

Very lost until pitch 3, which is a stunning corner jammering problem that I'd give 3 stars.

Was looking for the main route, saw the chalk and followed it into and rather excenlent corner and roof traverse that is the variant. Good climbing at grade 17.

In relatively good condition considering it probably hasn’t been climbed in years. A spooky lead with fat runouts. Exciting!

At the time we couldn't believe our luck that this line had not been done.

14 | ★★ Showpiece Crack | 120m | Mt Rosea | Mon 11th Apr 2016 | |||||
With Terry. Think I had my blinkers on on third pitch and strayed into the chimney of Sweet Maggots which had an eexciting exit. The Showpiece Crack itself was great though and had quite a runout for the grade - maybe a #5 cam would help there.

Good climbing but hasn't been done in years. James combined 2&3. Must have gone too far left on pitch 4 as the final pitch wasn't the easy climbing as promised

Shutdown with Dame on the hard move on P3. Way hard. Awesome traverse P4

Beware of seeping in wet periods, especially on the last pitch. It appeared dry (except for the mossy start on the first pitch), however pitch 3 was a drenched and slimy mess, and we had to get a rope lowered by other climbers to get us up the last section.
