Holy FUCK

I’m gonna call it a classic cause it’s my style and I like it. Jugs and big moves - perfect. First go was surprisingly close. Second go my finger started gushing with blood after a throw. Third go I didn’t use feet and got nowhere. Fourth go I moved quick and had good footwork, as always feels easier when you climb properly.

Warming up when climbing in winter seriously sucks. The hard stuff for this one is at the start when your fingies are coldest : (

If I was to name this route it would be “National Average” as all the fun is over in a couple of minutes! Nevertheless, it’s a great route. Too bad there’s no direct start.

Tried twice but fell from crux both tries.

Oh, I was so close to on sighting it... Came off on the last hard move :-( Anyway, It went second go. Really cool start, then easy to a rest, where you can get enough power back for the last sequence.

Hard start and finish, with a good rest in the middle.

Interesting moves on fantastic rock. Over too early.

Great climbing with some hard bits. Got it second go (first run was a warm up :-P).

Great moves on the steep section of the wall. Blew the on-sight by not seeing the good hold before the finish jug.

I enjoyed it a lot, really cool moves; I would give it more stars if it was longer. Pretty happy with a flash.

Worked out beta while putting a draws. Tried again but was too tired to do even the frist darw to the second.

Reachy and pumpy if you’re not tall. Forced traverse because I just couldn’t reach.

A tale of two cruxes. An engaging technical sequence down low on marginal slopers, and a potentially heartbreaking throw off of sharp crimps high up. The forgiving rest in between tames the experience. Great route

What a cool first move. A bit mossy in places, this definitely deserves more ascents

Very fun jumpstart for the whole crew. This route alone made it worth coming all the way up there

I let myself be influenced by the route description and tried a dyno at the end. I suck at dynos and failed. Was much easier just doing it statically and i'm a short climbers. Tricky start

Easy climbing after a complete muscle destruction yesterday. Not much chalk there yet so looking for holds is part of the fun.

2nd go. There was no chalk above the lip and being utterly destroyed from climbing at Van Demiens’s Land the previous day, I blew my onsight attempt. The move to the second draw was freaking reachy (I’m 175cm tall) and it cost me a lot of energy as well. Beside that I really liked the moves.

I actually enjoyed it. Well, yes, the mantle was not pretty but I guess my beta was not optimal either. The Guardhouse is a very nice little spot. Will be back for the other routes.

Warm-up. First time at the Guardhouse. Really nice spot. From the carpark, walk 9mins towards Sentinel Cave, then turn left at the cairn and follow cairns to the cliff. Total walk-in time was 30 mins.

Short, powerful and reachy. The crux move (over the lip) is great.

Unfortunately a magnet for moss. Good though.

Yeah, that bottom bolt is cracked through the middle. Wouldn't want to whip on it. The anchors at the top seem to be lacking some filler as well. Uninspiring.

Good pump. Bolts at this crag are a bit funk.

Mossy as shit, stick to the main wall

Arms were like noodles after climbing the rest of the crag. A bit of a hang fest but got up it. Think it would be an amazing route to link.

Hand closed on final jug, feet cut loose, held it for a second then lost it. Shit.

Route description on here is definitely right. First bolt is visibly cracked at least halfway through. They appeared ok after that though. Move over the roof is bloody massive and awesome.

Could be a show stopper for the tick the crag in a day challenge. Couldn't work out the bottom boulder at all. Felt way hard!

Loved this one. The start flows really well then the dyno is sick!!

Warm up for the guardhouse challenge. Got pumped and probably finished off colder than I started.

Bouldery start on some slopers up to 3rd, backs off to the 5th and then finish with fun dyno

Fun mantle

Not much traffic on this I think. It was a bit hard to work out the slopers at the start without the normal chalk ladder. That dyno is rad though.
