Ascents in Northwest Slopes and plains by Vanessa Wills having sport-cpr or ascent-date

Hopefully the predicted rain will settle the dust. Really great and varied moves and steeper than it looks. One go on TR to brush the holds then sent with a bit of power grunting and wobbling before we had to leave.

Rpt, needed a bit of a brush. Left hand crack glove/ tape useful for me. Unfortunately I had brought 2 right hand gloves ( duh!)

Took a bit of cleaning. Unfortunately Robin and John’s bolts are within clipping distance in the lower half, though the crux and above is pure trad, mostly small to medium wires. The old single bolt needs replacing and anchors would be good. will add to the to do list. 23/24 maybe. It too k a number of tries to sort out

I hated the start rock quality but the route grew on me, with good technical moves and increasing pump, spent about 15 minutes climbing up and down at 4 th bolt before committing and then somehow held on with lovely slab moves at end. Probably third ascent, so no chalk, and quite dirty and 4 crumbling holds I somehow stayed on

Team success. Pink pointed on Dave's gear. A RP burn will have to wait for next year. Pre habilitation time is over. It's been a great month.

Beautiful climbing on great rock and interesting sculpted holds. Hands on top to finish. Buzzed by a curious eagle. Maybe soft, as still recovering from flu.

Quite atypical for the area, overhanging and featured. First go felt harder, but with some dusting it came together nicely.

FFA. Quite crimpy. May only be 23 with more cleaning. Fantastic victory jug.

This was meant to be an easy warm up, but trickier than it looks. The crimps felt better today than back in December.

Good rock for this part of the wall, and a strong line. Best to avoid the semi hanging belay and do it as a long pitch

Did TR it early in its development with Fantini, he has added a number of new bolts including some small aperture hangers and give it a good scrub. Some old blts have not been removed. Puppy. Spectacular top 15 m but pretty average rock quality in middle 10 m. Puppy placing the oodles of qds, especially trying to find ones that fit the hangers mid crux.

Nice technical arête.

FFA. Love a nice arete. Bouldery start may be easier for short, but then you suffer higher up.

Cleaned off some loose rock and hung draws on way down. Nice arête climbing, a bit steep

Would be classic if it wasn't Kaputar rock. Great varied climbing

Second go, after a scary onsight attempt due to spaced bolts. Hard moves at second bolt especially if lacking a big wingspan. Placed a very long sling on the fifth bolt.

Rpt, not a good ground up option due to risk of hitting the ground

FFA. The start went readily enough on crimps, but the rest of the climb kept me on my toes for a chalk less onsight. Really nice rock on the whole, for Kaputar, and some good face climbing

Rpt, quick end of day lap. Probably more a 22. The rock at the bottom really is crap.

Tiring on the right arm.

Maybe I am just tired, but this line seems confused about its intent and doesn't climb well.

Would be Classic if rock better. Very technical. Second shot as the sun set with numb hands.

Would easily get 25 in the blueys. I would need to put in a lot of very long slings to make this feel safe, so I think happy with top rope. Definitely not 23 at my height.

Not having the best day. Maybe work waking me at 3am and not being able to sleep again? Came off at first bulge. Rock quality improves after first 8 m. Bolted finger crack.

Do yourself and belayer a favour and aid the choss at the start to enjoy this route as the climbing is good above. Quite spicy bolting, interesting fin feature

Really an onsight, hold snapped at second bolt. Not Reassured by the surprise in Fantinis voice at the bolt holding!

FFA. Eliminated aid. Shame the rocks so friable. Quite a few breakages first go, clean despite some disintegrating footers second shot

Rpt. The moves on this route are great, if only it remained a bit cleaner. Rock improves a lot after 8 m. Calf pump! The vegetation up high doesn’t interfere with route.

Prior to the FA with JF belaying. The last 10 m are fantastic. A little crappy before that.

The warm up of the area, I always find this quite desperate.

Dogged first 3 bolts through the choss pit, then came to ground and went through to anchors. The upper wall is very good. Eliminated point of rest done by FA.

FFA. First pitch was quite dreadful due to rock quality. Second pitch had much better rock and a goey move

Rpt. I keep thinking a clean up of this route is needed. Nice traddish climbing on bolts, a couple of finger size cams can also be used.

Again good from 4th bolt. Would be better to aid on first bolt. Pretty clean given lack of traffic

A reasonable cleaning job. Shame it was not kept as a mixed route as the top half would protect well.
