Ascents in The Wastelands having Beta

I'd like to give it a star just because it is my first 23 onsight, but it really isn't worth one. If you are out of stared 23's jump on it. It is really varied climbing, from a balancy layoff start to thin slopers on a slab and finally a bit of a haul over a roof.

how can I be pumped in the first 2 metres?

Cruxy start then super easy slab climbing to awkward anchors.

Yeah not that great and a real run out section where you can see the next bolt. Climbed all the way to the top of the wall but decide to back climb and use the slab anchors.

2nd shot. It's damn pumpy for the first 2 metres and then there is a lot of delicate slabbing on slopers.

Linked up with Moshpit to try the roof. Set up a draw from the top to be safe

Shut down by a hard clip and awkward position. Not 100% sure about how much to wander.

Warmup. Pretty powerful out the cave then it gives up

Definitely not 16 as described in the Nowra guide. Some confusion exists over these two excellent routes. Anyone care to clear this up?

Dont fall getting the 3rd draw on. Otherrwise Classic !

Was told this was 16, and got thoroughly pumped trying o work it out on the flash attempt. Not really accurate, had to give a few grunts to push through on the 2nd shot.

Couldn't clip the 3rd bolt with my busted left finger.

Bit dirty, bit short for 2 stars.

What's dirty, moist, and hard as nails? This route! Bailed into the 18 at the top. Might involve some interesting sloper climbing with a bit of a clean and drier weather.

A bit on the dirty side but still climbs pretty good.

Traversed in from the right, missed one crucial L foothold. Cool climb even though the lichen and moss multicolours the rock and makes it near impossible to see feet

Super arete climbing!! Rock is a little sandy but it is perfectly climable!! Underrated and undergraded classic climbing.

Some really cool climbing, blew the flash when I grabbed a bolt to make the second clip less sketchy

Cheated past the first bolt, suspect broken holds. Nice for the rest

Start line a bit confused? Next crux would be ballistic if you are short.
