Ascents in Side Creek

Graded V7, but definitely feels closer to V5, I reckon. Climbs soooo nicely! Love the crossover moves.

Nearly got the send -- great line!

What a journey. Lost my headtorch battery in the car, bag peeled open and my water bottle floated downstream, went and got it to realise my food also was lost in the bush -- found that too. Beta didn't work with new shoes so 15 shots wasted but then I figured it out and it was "easy" all along. Celebrated with a skinny dip that last for about 3 seconds holy shit it was cold.

Really great line and definitely the toughest / real V7 at cedar.

That's one hard mantle. First move is great.

First time sampling the rock out here - some fun ones! Ended with a swim at the waterfall, it's definitely winter

Can't do the first move. The rest seems reasonable. Will come back with more bent arm pulling power.

It was nice to experience "the true v7 of cedar creek" =).

Definitely lost some condition in the past 2/3 weeks. Everything was feeling harder than last sesh.

Very impressed by Kobi's barefoot walkout in the dark with no headtorch.

Went from feeling impossible to gettable after sticking the dyno a few times. Learnt why its called orbital sander

Has anyone considered a lower / left start to this? I can just pull on with hands on the slopey left face with a low left foot. Seems like you could move back to normal start holds and up. I didn't really try though because I was just happy with the normal send and didn't want to risk getting wet.

Think this could be v6/v7? Hiroshi gave me great beta and being taller with long arms helped a lot.

Twice pumped off before making last rightward move before heading to the lip.

All moves done except big throw to lip.

Sent with minor dab on start pad. Dab did not provide assistance. Was just unwilling to do it without the pad and fall on the rock below.

Hit the high throw. Just need to put it all together.

At Toohey this wouldn't be more than V5 in terms of mantle difficulty, and I don't think the first move warrants V7 on its own. Claiming the V7 send doesn't feel good.
