Ascents in The Junkyard Cave

Great little warm up! First route for me in the Cave, what a stellar crag!

Excellent route with a variety of styles and technique, plus a little bit of power! Awesome line, got it on the second shot.

Definitely in the 23/ soft 24 range with good beta, other alternative sequences are more interesting but slightly harder. I found some really cool beta which is not the easiest way to do it but makes for an exceptional bouldery 24.

Rested before the mantle on the warmup, far nicer than expected

Excellent climb, love every move of it. Will take me some time to get consistent on the last sequence as it’s not my style.

Had no desire to get to the top of this, seems interesting but not a huge fan

Very damp first run of the day.

Very happy with the sequence i used, rather spicy with wet holds. Confident its 24 the way i climbed it but the less interesting direct way is still comfortably 23.

Definitely cool, would recommend trying it when you are still fresh.

Found the more direct start to the right to be much nicer and flow better (even though its not the proper start).

An exceptional extension, that pocket is just perfection. Cant believe im happy with making a climb longer but its good.

Not worth the effort. If you are projecting this side of the crag, just dial in Negative Funk as your warm up.

Pretty good route. I hadn't sport climbed in ages, so once the cobwebs were gone, and I dropped a knee through the top crux, all was sweet. Heaps of variety in the climbing style with kneebars and fist jams to keep you semi fresh.

Really great first few moves, and then big reaches above the slab.

It's punchy, and the key is all in the feet. Would have been easier without an injured finger. Still working on the 23 next door.

Awesome crux move right off the bat, and a great crimpy finish. In between those sections is pumpy rubbish. Still worth doing if you're already on Negative Funk.

Re-tick after a month off.

Very fun boulder route, but difficult to onsight. The hardest part is figuring out where to clip the 3rd bolt from.

Always a good start to the session.

Linking through the mantle took a few tries, which was a consequence of an uncertain clipping position and stuffing up the pocket dyno. It's a very pumpy little number...clipped into one anchor, and the tank was empty. 36 degrees in Campbelltown:(

2nd shot. Pumped out hanging the draws first go, next attempt wanted more at the anchors.

There are no unique or hard moves, but the position is cool. Stuffed up the the onsight moving to the upper break.

Sequency after the campus. Not hard on second shot, but over very quickly. CG may be a more interesting version.

Up Negative Funk, down Early Funk, and feeling great. Slowly getting back.

Up and down early funk to warm up and sussing trad placements. Perfect conditions today.

Got on this after Lewy tossed on the draws. 2 shots, and almost sent it. Pumpy with a V2 move (crux) in the middle and then some sloper action up high. Like a 22-23 at South Central .

3 laps because most of the crag was flowing water. Getting well into the extension now. Finally learning to rest upside down and control the heart rate.
