Ascents in South Sentinel

Worth dogging! This is a great extension to an already great line!

Ran out of bolts. Emergency trip to Bunnings!

Burn to work out all the moves, and finally did them all. Lower holds still wet, but I am beyond psyched with this route. 29/30.

Slimed off the opening dyno. Linked clean from 4 to 8 and just fluffed crux. God that finish is incredible. I will be back for this. And there's always the 9a extension!

Flew back up for the rematch. Gear on Saturday morning, no warm up, let's do this.

FFA. Boom! 10:30am, done. Hype hype hype - this is the best route I've ever put up. What's better than this? Serpentine...what else? [5]

Foot first beta wasn't the best way it seems, ah well! New beta sorted

Close just over jumped, couldn't catch one handed

Epic, short, powerful roof boulder. Could maybe be 29? Seems send season isn't over yet, needed jumpers today!

Went hard for the dyno, it's massssssssive. Worked out 2 other possible sequences but much harder then just jumping

Pulled really hard and got the static way. Going to try again for the dyno though, just need a good camera angle

Probably 20 shots at the dyno.

Had a play on this early on when it was still a project with Chris. Worked the crux dyno method but never latched it.

Dog, worked out new beta for crux. Steve's kneebar doesn't work for me. I do compression hugging.

Very damp and didn't quite latch the crux.

Low power, not very good on the crux. Give me coffee and dry rock.

4th day on, that strange feeling that warming up is not necessary.

Second ascent of Frederick's current hardest route. An epic second pitch affair high up in space up an immaculate orange and white 37 degree overhanging volcanic wall peppered with pockets. Very proud of the Three Lost Monkeys for establishing this. 1 shot in 2009, 5 shots this trip. Thank god it was dry today. [6]

Wanted to try this climb ever since i saw Steve working the beta, dam it looked sick! And it climbs even better!! Onsight attempt was alright, got to the middle undercling but messed up the foot placements and slipped.

Just couldnt follow the jugs at the lip, went to far and grabbed nothing. So close just had to clip anchors!! Shouldery goodness of a climb will see you tomorrow for the next attempt

Those top moves again!! Ahhhhh!

Feels like I'm going backwards with this route, 3 falls even though the moves felt good. Tomorrow is another chance.

Such a cool climb! Worked all the moves up the direct section. Got them all except the move to the "hose pocket". Fun, hard, interesting moves. Dyno is epic!

Went for the onsight and got above the roof, but couldn't get properly established and pinged off.

Went for late arvo burn, was shattered. Fell getting above the roof again. Learned a better way of getting through the roof, different to Neil.

Did this in the morning, no warm up. It was the right move. 32m of unrelenting pumpedness. So great! Killer route Monty!

My first day on this lovely climb. Had a couple of goes working out some of the moves. It's a sensational line that's steep, juggy and pumpy. It starts off a lovely little ledge too which means its positioning is extra great as well. All the moves I did were really really great. With so many knee bars it feels quite gymnastic and a lot like a Coolum route. I'm excited to start projecting this climb, it's just so much fun!
