Ascents in Townsville having Beta

Mega, amazing continuous face climbing on great rock and in a superb position. Needs the carrots at the top and the 2nd belay replaced

Fantastic route, a good mix of excitement and location.

Awesome! Definitely the coolest multi I've done so far. somehow the climbing goes from great to super dooper the higher you get. Bolts are quite spaced on the easy pitches so you want to be confident to not fall.

The last pitch in my opinion really detracts from the rest of the climb. But it's always cool to top out.

We only did pitch 1 as a warmup.

Started late with one head torch with the intention of climbing in the dark and expecting lights projecting onto the rock. No lights tonight. Was too dark to continue on the 3rd pitch. Poor Jess would have been seconding essentially blindfolded. Good fun climb with some thought provoking sections. Will return with 2 headtorches for that night time exposure

Spectacularly messed up that first pitch (18) and lost the onsite. Though, made my poor partner walk back down after and belay me again. No issues the 2nd time. Some great technical slabbyness

Climbed just the first pitch to check out the routes that leave from the ledge, and see if it makes a good beginner lead... it doesn't.

A classic super fun birthday multi covering all the rock types and styles that Fred's has to offer. Every pitch was great with the 5th pitch being my fav. A shame I had a fall on the crux pitch... Just means I have to do it again

Such a sweet line. I feel cheap saying how all these routes are awesome, but they really are. Kneebars. So many kneebars. Oh, and a lifesaver fistjam up high! Had to dig pretty dig for this. First 27 onsight!

looks super awkward but was enjoyable. Landing not as bad as the other arete

technically not an onsight because I climbed the first part before to clean the draws off "Hacked!". Not very technical, yet super pumpy. Crux is the black streak because you have to heelhook trough that section.

Something in the water today! Stoked to get up this one first go, had a foot slip at the top out but managed to hold it together. Amazing crimps up and engaging slabby face

An absolutely awesome climb! The bottom 3/4 is slabby and while it is not hard it is enjoyable and interesting. The last 4 bolts are just 100% pure fun. Steep jug hauling 25 meters off the ground with the feeling of air below you. I will recommend this to anyone I know who is climbing in Townsville!

Kept pushing and came away with the onsight. Decitefully steep and pumpy with plenty of balancy climbing.

Good name, and a good route. Funky class. I didn't expect it to be engaging all the way to the chains.

Suh-weet! Rad scoopy crux.

I guess I did the FFA on this one?! Bouldery Crux after the first Bolt, cleaned some loose crimps and footholds off the wall while climbing. Quite scary but it could be one of the best lines here if cleaned.

Awesome climbing, similar to upper slider and very much my cup of tea. First onsight at the grade! But I'd say it's on the low end, although the pump in my forearms would suggest otherwise

Fun flowy route! I honestly found “Sushi Quest” harder though, and that seemed about 23 to me. Caroline Chang assures me this one is harder though. 🤷‍♀️

Cool features with some interesting technical corner climbing in the second half, unfortunately the rock quality lets it down, maybe it’d clean up nice if it got more action? Zero chalk and significant levels of choss made for a highly engaging onsite!

Great climb but not a V4 in my opinion. Awesome scenery and easy access make the climbs even more enjoyable

Pretty average landing if you did happen to fall, felt super soft for a v4. Maybe scare grade? Topping out was hard due to a recently dead tree that has fallen onto boulder.

I would say v2-v3. Or maybe I didn’t started it the "right way”… Not sure. Let me know. 🙂
