Awesome moves on amazing rock. The only thing detracting from it is not very good bolting through the middle crux section - potential fall onto ledge. First half can take several small-moderate wires and cam to 0.5BD. Climbed second shot after mis-reading the crux first go.

There's two places (diagonal crack) where you can add protection. No need to carry a full rack just for two placements. Hand size cracks. Optional too...
There is an anchor after the last bolt on the last slab, near a bush in the back. Just no rap anchors.

Fantastic route, closer to a sport route then a trad route. We used cams .5-1 and 12 draws. Linked pitches 1&2, 2&3, 3&4 5&6, 9&10. Every time it seemed to get tricky a quick glance around lead to an easier path forward.

I'd heard mixed reviews about this climb and it's route-finding faffery but the route finding is obvious and the climbing is fucking phenomenal. The latter half from the Acrophobes is where you really get your money's worth. The last 5.8 chimney pitch was really fun as well - good summit-bound grovel.

An absolutely exhilarating experience! My favourite pitches were the Angel Crack pitch, the Acrophobes, the second last sustained 5.10a crack pitch and the chimney finish. It was about a 20-30 minute uphill approach for us. We started at 7am and finished at around 8pm on top of the Second Peak of the Chief. The headlamp hike down took us about an hour. Be prepared to start early as this route can get busy.

Beautiful and lots of fun. On a windy day, the wind can funnel down the North Gully and amplify the wind speed. Well worth the approach and walk down.

What a sick day. Was so stoked to get on this climb on my last day in Squamish with Jonas who I met on FB the day before. Was a dodgy move to climb this epic with a trad newbie ! Learnt to check next time that my partner has a head torch and enough water and knows how to setup trad anchors! Jonas lead the last pitch in the twilight and I had to switch my headtorch on right at the end! Made for an epic day enjoyed every moment on this awesome rock. The traverse and abseil off the jagged peak was exhilarating and an unforgettable experience!
