Ascents in Cheakamus Canyon having Beta

Fun potential project in anti style. Cool easier climbing leads to a super awesome sequence I made with an inside toe and heel hooks to keep tension moving between side pulls ! Feeling like a real steep climber! Tried hard, couldn’t quite work out 2 moves through the crux. Nice fingerlockin top

Great climb

Hardd but sick! Cool up into the undercling, and to the rail. Skipped the crux through the slopey nothing crimps. Tricky small holds over the bludge

Such incredible rock features: smooth horizontal scoops carved out. Super beautiful. Felt so hard first go, so was not expecting a send. Quite big dynamic moves. Worked out the start with better direct beta, then quickly got sooo pumped, and really had to work for it. I didn’t fall which was epic! Stick clipped the 2nd draw.

Really awesome! Techy balancy start with slopey hands and slopey feet, then into awesome sculpted pockets! Fun slab top. Fell in the crimpy pockets on first try. Sent 2nd try

Fun jug blocks

Stiff bouldery crux. Got it on 4th attempt, surprising.

Left pinch broke at the start, there's now a useless crappy crimp. Very interesting climb, pumpy, a few kneebars, a couple jams, lots of blind slapping since holds are often out of sight.

Fell on my flash attempt, but got it on the second go!

Felt that bolting is a little off, 1st bolt seems too low and larger gaps between the 2nd and 3rd bolt. Still a great route.

Wow. Such a breathtakingly beautiful area to climb. Totally got lost on the approach. Found the last 2 pitches a little run out. Definitely a must-do.

In my approach shoes

Super happy to get to the top of this without a stick clip. Cool boulder problem (though took all the skin on my left index finger), followed by some balancy moves and quite a difficult final slab approach to the anchors. Really cool line. Wish I had more time to give it another burn.

Couldn't get off the ground on my first tie-in. Difficult to read boulder problem.

Messed up the start

The burly overhanging section wasn't too bad after adjusting my beta. Super fun.

Tried it a few years ago. Low-stress overhang on jugs. The top was mossy, though holds that matter were OK.

Tried to do it in better style, but left foot slipped in crux.

Repeat. In better style. Only first draw pre-clipped for safety.

Red point! Not in the best style as the first two draws were pre-clipped, but the locals on the 5.13a next to us were doing the same thing Nevertheless, I repeated it in better style later in the same session.

This climb packs a few crimp moves, a few jams, a knee bar, and a couple of awkward side-pulls, all in about 10m. Fantastic route!
