Ascents in Echo Canyon

Went down on 3rd burn today. Really enjoyed this route from the start. Quality.

No expectation burn just feeling out the moves.

Some improved beta got this down to 1 hang today.

First day outside for the season and a bit of a test for my finger. Held up ok which was a good sign. This was a fun route.

Fell at the bottom then clean to the anchor. We bailed on marriage story after two pitches due to not having helmets (our bad) and the terrible rock quality. Breaking feet left and right and broke off a HUGE chunk of rock 2m from the rap line just pulling the rope... Pretty surprised that there is no mention of all the rotten and loose rock on these pitches anywhere else! Also core shot my rope on the first sideways rappel so not a great day overall...

Quite enjoyable for 3 out of the 4 pitches with the 3rd being the money. Swung leads with Nate

Hard boulder problem for the first section, took a while to figure out the sequence. Definitely stick clip this one! First bolt is like 7m high! Once I had the moves figured out, it went first send attempt. Eats finger skin!

Good climb, big obscure if you don't know where you're going.

Some sweet bouldering straight off the deck, leads to cruisie but engaging top section. Bolt to bolt then sent

This thing is siiiiick. Love the rock here it’s sharp and nice texture. Still getting used to the movement and style here. Took a mad whip second shot in the cool roof sequence. Sadly the smoke here is really bad today so felt a bit suffocated and struggled with power

Warm up

This is 11a on mountain project. Felt like 11a especially if you read it right.

Second shot. Gets much harder at the top on marginal holds.

Apt description, nice climbing and happy to get the onsight.

Really fun climbing. Should have sent this 2nd go however panicked on the last move

Not a great warm up and not a great climb.

Out of gas. Season is probably done now however this will be nice to come back to in the spring Really enjoyed it and stoked James got the send today.

High point, fell clipping the last bolt. Closer but still feels far away.

Warm up - hanging the draws.

Bottom crux is 'left foot, left had to the side pull. right foot underneath, right hand to side crimp, left foot underneath, throw to the jug rail.

Got through all the moves ok, will need some work to stick it together. Very cool sequences.

Short but definitely sweet.
