Ascents in Woodstock having Beta

First climb in Squam! Nice intro to the rock here.

Mixed holds, juggy overhang at the beginning, slabby later.

This route seems to be the wettest in Woodstock. After a good amount of sun, one of the crux holds was still a puddle.

Performance is not satisfied. Remember to warm up on a chilly morning.

Clean for veras onsight

but wet start. bring a towel and a brush for the chalk sludge.

Messed up the sequence through the layback section and had to rest, then cheated by pulling on a draw at the top. Still a great climb.

This could be the best route in the world but when it's wet and dark it was not fun

Would be a great route if it wasn't wet at the time, but most of the critical hold were dry.

It's really just a boulder problem. You probably want to stick clip the first bolt to protect the crux move.

Pretty burly for a 5.8 (5.8 in Squamish Select)

The easiest of these 5.8s, a nice climb and likely a good first 5.8 lead

Oops! I went too far to the right and slipped on the smooth part - doh!

Warm up route, and first ever climb on granite! Took me a wee while to get used to this super amazing rock type, but now I know what all the fuss is about!

Second warm up.

First 5.10 climb on granite. Really nice interesting climb.

Onsight attempt. Clipped the fourth bolt but didn't find the beta and tried to keep left up the crack and couldn't pull through. Took a nasty fall with the rope between my legs. Ow!

Red point! With the beta of stepping right and reaching over right to a good positive hold in line with the 4th bolt I got through the crux and was fine from there. #2ndGo

First climb on granite.

Very pumpy in the beginning. Couldn't go all the way up in the corner as not enough arm strength and not much grip for the feet on the left wall. After a few falls gone around the crux on the right.

Very good route. Found it pretty hard at the crux section for the grade.

Ok route but way too easy for 5.9. 5.7 is more appropriate.
