#2nd go. Went direct with a right hand low side pull then a long lock off left hand on the crimp. seems pretty direct without traversing right. not sure what anyone else is doing to make this 25/26 🤷♂️ Grade aside this is a quality route... bolting is a bit odd with a committing move to put that 4th draw in ground up but when "pink" pointing wasn't an issue.

Alexei's beta (right-hand variation) makes this about 24, not 26
It was very nice to overcome my fear of the runout from 3rd to 4th bolt I did take one whip there yesterday and it's a totally safe fall of course, and actually quite fun!! I initially found the 3rd to 4th bolt to be my personal crux (once Alexei sorted nice beta for the first 3 bolts), but turns out I was just not trusting the nice slopery layback up top because I was being a dumbass about the feet 😅 (had nice foot chip for right foot but didn't think to stick left foot in the crimp slot you use to get up into the layback section at first - silly!) Once I worked it out it was fine. Although I did get fairly pumped due to all the sloper goodness throughout the route - in other words, it was a great one for me to have worked and sent! 💙🐦🐦 Thanks, Daniel Scott! |

Tried left arete beta. Figured out something even more involved but still not unlocked. Watched James FM put the two sides together (though not using arete) for a second go send. Pretty impressive. He and Isaac confirmed that the block above the 4th bolt is loose and potential death if you yarded off the back of it to drag it on top of you. Actually loose! Damn. I wondered if it was loose when I was up there yesterday.

Spent all weekend waffling between working Ben's beta and puzzling out some direct (on the face, not going to arête) beta but not quite getting it solved. James and Isaac came along and provided us some flashy direct beta that was similar to that which I had worked but with two key exceptions - a high left heel hook to rock over (all the way up for James, switching to toe halfway up for Isaac), up to an intermediate sloper (between compression sidepulls of Ben's beta) with left hand and then bumping up to pretty solid sloper, large knob sidepull (also featured in Ben's beta). Then get feet onto sloper rail from which you clip the 2nd bolt, and step up high to the clipping hold for the 3rd bolt! ⚠️: beware the precarious ~200kg block at the top, which features the layback slopers, that Isaac discovered is loose!!

Fall onto the 1st bolt and the 4th. Kinda tricky climbing but nice. Variation with some jams to start, some jugs, some sloppers, and some smaller holds. I had a nasty fall on the 4th bolt where I was a bit negligent with where the rope was and consequently when I peeled off got flipped upside down with the rope wrapped around my lower leg.. yay for solid bruising and a sore leg! That was the days climbing cut short. I will be back!
