Ascents in The Caves having Beta

Has a really hard move around the 1st bolt. Grade 23 on ClimbNZ, which is more reasonable imo.

Wet and dirty, with prickly vegetation. Not my finest climbing experience. It does have some interesting moves to be fair.

Finally dry at the start. Soft for the grade, but fun and juggy.

Actually not half bad! Short but with quality moves and surprising exposure.

Quite nice, better than expected.

Steep jug hauling!

Probably 22 the way I did it, going left at the finish. Rather contrived not to though, as the ledges naturally lead left. Once and done!

Fell at the bottom when I broke a hold, lowered and sent to the chains. Not amazing Down low, but the upper face is lovely.

Good, and possibly stuff for the grade.

Excellent route, one of the better 23s at Britten.

A bit wandery but still decent.

Felt just as hard or harder than Pump Action to me, but only for one move.

Better than its neighbor, with some crispy crimp action up the face.

Nearly pulled off the onsight but (predictably) pumped off when I got lost at the top.

Felt almost easy when I knew where to go. Almost thought I was back at Flinders Cave!

Logged as a 25 consistent with Tony’s guide, which feels about right. Really nice movement and better rock than most of Britten. Some tricky beta at points.
