Ascents in Escher World having Beta

Confused about the bolts options up there at the arete I went down. The polished foot holds take a lot of the fun....

Nice pockets in the beginning but a bit polished. Reachy weird moves towards the top.

Sensational route! Just epic climbing, great views and cool being in mouth of the cave. I got lost towards the top as I saw a line of bolts around the corner of the arête (facing the beach) but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the intended route. I eventually came back round to the east facing side and up to the anchor. Very very good route.

Great route when it's dry! You don't wanna climb it when the black moss that covers the wall gets damp, soapy and slippery. Tried it a year ago 31st March and it was the most dirty, disgusting thing I have ever climbed.

Really scary with the small edges foothold and the massive wall with kinda far bolts. Loving the crux sequence, aesthetic and really beautiful climbing throughout.

One of my favourite climbs in Railay.

Avoid this route until rebolted and cleaned. Very dirty and slippery, really old slings.

found start was polished and powerful. had to bail out on the upper section to the anchor, it was super humid today and I couldn't trust the feet!

It looks great on camera. Bouldery start, comfortable middle section and technical end.

Cool offwidthy leg jams in the corner get you past the crux. Interesting movement.

I mean, it's the most striking line so it just begs to be climbed.

However, she's a vicious beast and changes like the weather.

Literally went bolt to bolt while rescuing and earlier party's draws. The wall has an assortment of options to try, of which maybe one or two are good. You're never quite sure whether you're using the 'right' hold. Feet are even more dicey. Do I put up a stupid high foot? Or do I commit to sideways flag friction on spoogy polished foot chips?

Anyway, got to the tourist cave up top, had a bit of a cry, went back out onto the arete and clipped the 3rd last draw. From there, it's honeycomb-style sharp and a teeny bit run out. I was all out of lead beans so I called it there.

The clean was as adventurous as the climb, taking an hour or so because I fucked it up. Backjumping is probably best but I wasn't feeling it =) Watch for rope catching around the arete during the clean. Really cocked things up.

All in all, kind of a must-try, but golly, Minnesota ain't no cakewalk.

Third attempt, super route!

Tough start then fun climbing to the crux which got the better of me unfortunately. There are two lines of bolts when you get to the crux, someone said the left is a 7a and right is the usual 6c, unfortunately I did not know this before starting and tried using all which ended in utter confusion. Sweatiest conditions I've ever climbed in, chalking up every hold... but that may be part and parcel with this location. Looking forward to coming back at some stage to get the tick all the same.

Incredible route - a classic Tonsai slippery bouldery start, into incredible pockety secure climbing and an awesome double arete via a few steep moves. The slabby crux is the sting in the tail.

Most draws were up, I finished and cleaned. Never had a more hot, sweaty and unnerving finish. No breeze and high humidity made the balancy top 2 or 3 bolts nearly impossible.

Easy to hard crux, not a good warm up. Bailed on last bolt (thanks whoever left the maillon!)

Easily the best route in Minnesota.

Easily the worst conditions I've ever experienced in Thailand. Hot, soggy and no breeze.

Punchy start, cool traverse on pockets and edges, juggy rooflet and then surprise slab finish.
